A Wedding layout ;)

Happy Saturday! I can't believe March as come and gone. April begins tomorrow and so does the wedding season. I believe my husband and I have 2 weddings this spring/early summer. I decided to break out my "Sweethearts" cartridge for Emma's "Throwback Thursday" cricut challenge and create a wedding layout:

I used Basic Grey's "Little Black Dress" papers and flower buttons.  I love this collection!

I tried something new and embellished my photos using the "Urban Chic Frames" transparency overlays by Hambly. You can check them out in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store HERE.

Meet my stepmother and youngest brother :) I used my "Sweethearts" cart to cut this heart frame for my title.

I also cut the coordinating "envelope" and tag. However, I cut it smaller and used it as a hidden journaling pocket.

I can't believe it's been 3 1/2 years and I'm *still* working on my wedding photos. But.... if I were done, I wouldn't get to use the latest formal occasion papers in my album, right? At least that is that is what I will tell myself ;)

Birthday Cards

I made 2 birthday cards tonight for our niece's.. it's a double the fun party tomorrow!

I used the super fun papers and embellishments from We R Memory Keeper's "Funfetti" line.

I anchored the bold patterns on black (and a white) mat. I also added some pink, liquid pearls for a soft touch.

I love how they turned out.. and am looking forward to a fun, family day tomorrow :)

Have a great weekend!

Easter Card

I made this Easter card for Emma's sketch challenge at My Creative Time. I used her "Color Me Happy" set from last year. I just love the sentiments in this set!

My little bunny is from Create a Critter and the papers are "Sweet Threads" by Basic Grey.

Monogram Card

"You've Been Framed!" - that's the theme at Cricut Cardz challenge this week. I used an accent frame (and letter S) cut from the "Storybook" cartridge to make this monogram card:

I love the pink, black, and grey color scheme :) The pink layer was embossed with the "Victorian" cuttlebug folder - my favorite!

Have a great day! :)

Celebrate!

I've been "saving" my new "Celebrate" collection from Authentique.. it was about time I broke into it ;) I used the monthly sketch challenge at Authentique to get me started..

I used a photo of my bestie, Jess, and I from New Year's :) What a fun night that was! I loved working with these non-traditional colors!

I'm also sharing this layout at Scraptastic kit club for using a banner and staples (top left corner of my photo) and Burlap and Buttercup's "no kids allowed" challenge.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend! It's time to clean up the scrap desk and tend to the house and school work ;)

Bloom and Grow

The first day of spring was GORGEOUS here! After work, my hubby and I took our dog downtown for a nice walk and free Rita's italian ice :) I knew one of the photos would be perfect for this month's Imaginisce photo inspiration challenge:

I incorporated the grid design, green color, flower elements and spring theme in my layout:

I love the bright, spring colors! I added dimension to my kite by cutting triangles of patterned paper and popping them up. I also accented 2 of the bows with ribbon :)

I used patterned papers from the new Hippity Hop line and the "b side" of papers from Happy Harvest and Berrylicious.. what can I say I love Imaginisce and have lots of their collections ;)

I used the kite diecut and one of the title diecuts from Hippity Hop. I love their glossy look! I layered a few rolled paper flowers on top of the flower die cuts, also from that collection. I'm addicted to making these!

The Imaginisce petal roller makes them so quick and easy to make too. They turned almost as pretty as the blooming tree in the photo ;)

I cut some of my journal strips with a ribbon tie edge to bring in the same element from the kite. I also popped up some of them for added interest!

I'm also entering this layout at Lasting Memories ("paw"sitively sweet challenge) and Frosted Designs (grid challenge).

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!

AWDML: Clean and Simple Card Tutorial

Are you subscribed to A Walk Down  Memory Lane's newsletter? It's a weekly source of promotions and inspiration! My tutorial was published in today's issue.

A clean and simple card, where the stamping goes "over the edge":

I love how the tree from Paper Smooches "Gently Seasoned" is stamped over the edge of my square and fussy cut. And.. I could use my Hero Arts "Woodgrain" background stamp. on. everything. really!

TGIF !! :) Have a great weekend everyone :)

Quick Quotes: Chipboard Lasercut Dies! :)

Good morning! Today is my day to share a project on the Quick Quotes blog. I decided to make a project this week, showcasing our chipboard laser cut dies - featured all month long. I used the beautiful papers from the Dreamscape collection. :)

I used a "center step" card fold. You can see the side view here:

I used our new Fun Blossoms laser cut chipboard for my main image. I colored them with the Lemonade and Mango Mai Tai powder puff chalk inks. The edges of the patterned paper were inked with Mocha Mama.

Quick Quotes Supplies:

Other Supplies:
Brown satin ribbon
Purple bling

Stop over at the Quick Quotes blog to see what the rest of the design team has been creating with our chipboard laser cut dies and more! Have a great day!

Burlap & Buttercups Kit *reveal*

Happy Sunday everyone! Gosh where did the weekend go?! It seems like Friday will never get here and when it does Saturday and Sunday seem to ZOOM right by. Monday again? lol! It was a very productive weekend here - lots of nesting going on ;)

It's time to reveal the layouts I created for Burlap and Buttercups! I wanted to thank Rachel once again for inviting me to be a guest designer this month. It was so much fun and Rachel is *so* sweet!

Burlap and Buttercups Monthly Scrapbooking Kit Club

The March kit was so fun to play with! Here is what I've been working on the past two weeks: So excited to finally share it, hehe!

Catching Some Rays:

I *love* that big sun graphic on the American Crafts paper - but was stumped for a while on how to use it. I kept it simple and added a few favorite pics of Jax laying in his favorite room: our sunroom.  I added some stickle detail to the sun to really make it shine:

Those alpahs are from the Indie Bloom sticker sheet that comes in the kit. Loved having coordinating titles at my fingertips :) I dressed up my photo with twine and painting a few pieces of Maya Road chipboard (included in the add on kit). The canvas sticker "scatter sunshine" as also from American Crafts.

Celebrating Home:

I usually love all things Basic Grey, but didn't really care for the Indie Bloom line. However, when I saw it in the kit I was drawn to it right away! I used the bold patterns on this 2 page layout:

There are lots of great embellies in this kit - including this My Minds Eye die cut, which I attached with an Indie Bloom fabric brad.

Rachel included these fun American Crafts thickers, in addition to the Indie Bloom alpha stickersheet. They work great together!

 Crazy Daisy:
(inspired by the sketch at Artful Delight)

My favorite Indie Bloom paper was this diamond pattern - and I knew I wanted to use it by itself. This is our niece Isabella all ready to go to a slumber party. I used the Studio Calico yellow ledger paper for my journaling spots.

I lined the second one with the blue ribbon included in the kit. I love how it turned out!

I popped up the "Crazy Daisy" diecut sticker from the Indie Bloom embellishment sheet for added dimension.

Man's Best Friend:

Last but not least, my "boys".. hubby and puppy are inseparable! The "best friend" cardstock sticker worked great for this title. That woodgrain paper from October Afternoon deserved a page of it's own, dontcha think ;)

I used the white floss in the kit to stitch 3 circles off my page to mimic my puppy's cone in the photo lol. He had to have surgery but is all better now :) More layouts coming of that adventure!

I hope you've enjoyed the layouts I created as much as I did working on them :) You *must* check out Burlaps and Buttercups for the design team's inspiration.

March's kit is *sold out* but please consider pre-ordering an April kit! You will *love* it! I created these 4 layouts and still have lots left over for a few more layouts or several cards. It's an awesome deal on great product!

I'm off to enjoy what's left of this Sunday.. have a great week!

What Little Girls are Made of...

Is it Friday yet?? I've caught a serious case of spring fever with these 80 degree temps in March (probably from my first graders who think that summer is around the corner now.. how confusing!)

Anyway, it's the 15th which means a new challenge at The Paper Variety! And we've teamed up with ScrapFIT to offer you 2 challenges in one!

The Paper Variety has created a sketch challenge and ScrapFIT has offered up a jounaling challenge. Put them together and you will get an awesome layout and a chance to WIN a prize from both places!

The Paper Variety's sketch challenge...

and ScrapFIT's Workout #64 journaling challenge-
Its Easy as 1, 2, 3...

"The 'Its Easy as 1, 2, 3..' Show us your numbered list!"

Be sure to incorporate this journaling workout with the TPV sketch above so you can enter your layout at both places!

The randomly chosen challenge winner at TPV will receive Bo Bunny's Alora collection kit!

I loved working with Abby's sketch and the journaling challenge at ScrapFit. They inspired me to use this adorable picture of  my nieces and list what "what little girls are made of". Aren't they just the representation of "sugar and spice and everything nice"?? I used the new Neapolitan line from American Crafts, including that awesome date roller stamp :)

I have more details and a step by step video on the A Walk Down Memory Lane blog.  I can't wait to see what you create! :)
Now hop on over to ScrapFIT to see how their team worked this Sketch Workout! Enter your layout at TPV and ScrapFIT for a chance to win prizes at both places!

Cricut Cardz - Wearing Green! :)

Good morning! Welcome to another Cricut Cardz challenge brought to you by Mary at Cardz TV! This week we are making St. Patrick's Day cards. I immediately went to my favorite leprechaun on Simply Charmed. I cut him at 3", assembled the layers, and added some yellow stickles to his hat and button. :)

I didn't have any St. Patrick's Day paper, so I went through my patterned paper scraps and found these fun patterns from Pebbles. A diagonal strip with bright blue, green, and orange and a coordinating orange houndstooth. I decided to layer the orange on the postage stamp cut from Create a Critter.

Looking back at the challenge, I should have used more green :) Good thing I decided to add that  ribbon lol! Hop over to Cricut Cardz to see what the rest of the design team created and link up your own green themed St. Patrick's Day cards :)

Have a great day!
