{{smile!}}

A friend recently had to undergo surgery and I made a card for her using Echo Park stripes and dots papers and a Kaisercraft sticker sheet.

It came together quick with this sketch

{{ Sit Stay Heal }} Take Two

Unfortunately I needed 2 get well cards today, so this is my second take with the same cute set. I used the color challenge with MFT Card Challenges

I made a 5x5 square card since is is going into a care package for my friend who is having surgery. Other plans are keeping me from visiting until next week, but wanted to let her know I was thinking of her - and you know send her a good book and some chocolate ;)

I used My Favorite Things You Have My Heart set, along with the Decorative Doily die.  I was really challenged by the blues and grays - but I think it turned out really pretty! :)

Have a great week!

{{ Sit. Stay. Heal }} Take One

My grandma took a fall yesterday, so during naptime I made this card to cheer her up. I can't believe I haven't used this My Favorite Things "You Have My Heart" set yet. I love the punny sentiment!

I used the sketch at Mojo Mondays and an older Authentique 6x6 pad.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week :)

You're One Smart Cookie!

The minute I saw this lil Lawn Fawn set, I knew it had to come home with me. I am a first grade teacher who loves puns - and can see making toppers with set for a lil bag of cookies for my kids who do great on an assignment.

Those kids - they grow up. And my first class first graders JUST graduated {layout coming later today with THOSE pics!} - so I have some graduation cards to make also.

I stamped and embossed the diploma on the cardstock base to make my own patterned paper. I also went with our school colors of white, red and black. I paired the stamp set up with Quinn's ABCS, too!

I am linking up with the Lawn Fawn challenge - oh how I would LOVE to get those mermaids for my daughter's Ariel themed party!

Have a great weekend!

Best Dad in the Sea!

Wahoo! 10 days early and my Father's Day card is DONE! :)
The sketch at Mojo Monday was perfect for my idea:

A little backstory .... every night my hubby reads this book to our almost 3 year old daughter. She is really into Finding Nemo right now (a nice break from Little Mermaid lol).

And for Father's Day, I am surprising him with tickets to see Finding Dory in 3D at the iMax theater - it will be her first theater movie. He will be SO excited! (because let's face it we are more excited about Finding Dory than I think she is haha!)

{Hello!}

I needed 2 just because note cards and used the fun sketch at Mojo Mondays:

I raided my scrap drawer for these papers and tried the die cut inlay technique with this Lawn Fawn sentiment die. So fun !!

Now, I have 2 more diecuts set aside to make more cards :) Hope you are enjoying NSD! :) Have a great rest of the weekend.

I Dig You

I loved the sketch over at Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge blog:

I used the Woofers and Tweeters stamps set with my favorite doggie (who looks JUST like my puggle, Jax).  I made a cluster of the 3 icons in this set and white embossed them on black for the background. The white layer is popped up for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by! If you're on the East Coast like me, enjoy the snow :)

Dance in the Rain

A very sweet friend of mine is going through a hard time and I wanted to make a bright and cheery card of encouragement for her.  The challenge at Sugar and Spice was having an inspiration challenge:

and gave me the idea to use my favorite quote. Which I am lucky to have on the "Lean on Me" stamp set by Scrappy Mom Stamps.

I used my new patterned papers from my 6x6 Splendid Sunshine pad by Echo Park. I cut the cutie umbrella from the Create a Critter cricut cartridge and added the punched heart. The middle layers are popped up for dimension.

I hope this card brings a smile to her face and lifts her spirits! :)

Love You a Ton!

Happy day before Valentine's Day snow day!
Yes, that's my mailbox in the background lol!

During naptime today, I made my lil girl a special first Valentine's card using my favorite baby stamp (from Paper Smooches' "A Little Lovin'")

Paper Smooches is celebrating their anniversary and are having a "fun and cute" challenge going on. Can these 2 elephants get any more cute? And how fun is that sentiment? I typed/printed it and then stamped the Paper Smooches "Streamer" on top and fussy cut.

That popped up scalloped circle diecut frame was a..um.. accident... but I had so much time invested in this card I could not scrap it and start over and have a card finished before she woke up :)  I hope she likes it! And by likes it I mean doesn't shove it in her mouth and rip it to shreds.. HAHA!

Welcome Baby Boy!

My husband's coworker and friend just had a baby boy yesterday. He asked me to make a card.. sure thing! I went to my favorite baby set "A Little Lovin" from Paper Smooches. So I am entering their Anything Goes challenge as well.

I used an older My Minds Eye 6x6 pad for my layers and paper piecing. The rounded, light blue mat is popped up so those adorable elephants could nestle inside the circle.

My friend Danni RAKed me some charms recently and was thrilled to use one on this card. I love using clear stamps and being able to stamp them on a curve. I repeated the sentiment and put a tiny rhinestones between them.

Thanks for stopping by! TGIF! :)

Celebrate!

My bestie's birthday is coming up next week and I wanted to get her card finished before the craziness of Thanksgiving prep starts. The color challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks challenge was just the inspiration I needed!

I went to my (overfowing) drawer of 6x6 pads and pulled out 4 fun B side patterns with these colors.

And then went to work stamping my favorite rose (from the Pretty Mama set) onto my white card base.

There is something theraputic about paper piecing for me :) I had so much fun making this print. I then used the Celebrate sentiment from Pretty Phrases, embossed in white on black, to finish it off.

TGIF!! Have a great weekend :)

5th Anniversary Card

I love stripes! So this week's trend watch at Paper Smooches was right up my patterned paper alley ;)

I can't believe tomorrow marks 5 years of marriage with my sweetheart. I made this card tonight (okay so add a 4 month old to the mix and I am lucky I even had time to make a card at all HA!)

I diecut the negative of the number 5 using my cricut from red cardstock. I ran it through my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and popped it up on top of the fun diagonal stripe.

I used my favorite Streamers stamps to create my own sentiment using Alphadots. I love the dimension and fun colors.

Thanks for stopping by.. TGIF!! :)

A Card for My Hubby

Happy Sunday!! I made a card for my hubby today to let him know how proud I am of him and his career moves.  I used the color combo challenge at Paper Smooches:

I raided my cardstock scraps, stamped, and fussy cut my banners from the Streamers to make this card:

I stamped various sentiments from Sentiment Sampler, including Alphadot to add his name, alternating between embossing in white and black. I added hearts from Woofers and Tweeters (solid) and Giddy Bugs (striped) to fill in the shorter ones. That's 5 Paper Smooches sets! :) I also popped up the white sentiments to stand out from the white background.

I added a free hand solid black line to bring it together. I love how it turned out! Hope he does too! Have a great week. Monday is here again :(

You Are Special To Me

I stole a few minutes today to make a fall card {{YEAH my fav season is easing it's way in!!}} with one of the awesome sketches at Pamela's World.

I flipped it so my deer was facing the way I wanted:

All papers are from Bo Bunny's Forever Fall.
Hope you are having a great Saturday!
