These Boys :)

Happy Sunday! I'm scrappin' and watching the football games. Made a layout with my brothers and I wearing our jerseys from our football party a few weeks ago (when the Cowboys were still in it HAHA)...

I used this month's sketch at Artful Delight.

When I spotted this sheet of Yearography paper from Simple Stores at my local LSS - I knew it would be perfect for this sketch/photo. I swapped out the circle background for a star.

I fussy cut the paper to make the banners look like they were put on top of the mats/photo. This is the younger of my brothers, Alex.

On the other side is my brother, Jonathan. My favorite are those Pink Paislee wood alphas :)

I put my lil star punch to work with my cardstock scraps. I am sharing this layout at Scrap Fit's "Wish Upon a star" challenge and The Scraptastic Club's challenge to use a favorite photo, with at least 7 lines of journaling.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great week :)

Papercraft Star Challenge #1!

The first challenge is up at Papercraft Star! Just use this Etsy shop photo as inspiration for your project!

I made a scrapbook page for my first DT submission! I had to try out these crocheted flowers that I have seen blooming on scrapbook pages all over the blog world. I ordered mine from this Etsy shop!

This is my sister-in-law and her new fiance! He proposed in January. Love these black and white photos that my other sister-in-law took at Christmastime.

I loved working with these crocheted flowers! I added an Imaginisce pearl brad in the center.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope to see your project at Papercraft Star this week! :)

My "baby" brother

Love this new sketch featured on both The Scraproom blog and Sketch Inspiration ning.

I decided to do a picture of my "baby" brother and I from last summer - also qualifying for my friend Abby's challenge of using stars and stripes. I used Cosmo Cricket's Earth Love collection again today.

Thanks for looking! Happy first day of summer everyone :)

Just Us

My husband just returned from a week long golf trip in North Carolina. Needless to say, I was happy to see him! We were lounging on the couch, catching up with each other, when - in true Jaxon fashion - our puppy climbed up on the back of the couch and belly flopped between us! I know he missed Dave as much as I did (maybe even more!).

The main reason I scrapbook, is to chronicle our everyday life - all these memories I don't want to forget. As we discussed plans for our family's future, I was thinking in that moment that I wanted to remember what it was like when it was "just us". When our 4 legged son was the center of our home life.

So, using My Minds Eye's sketch, "I remember" prompt and the Be Loved collection - I made this layout 2 days later.

I used red floss to stitch the title and the buttons, and a teal floss for the lines around the photos. I also printed the photos in Sepia tone for a softer feel :)

Thanks for looking! TGIF! :)

A very special layout

..using this very cute sketch from the Scraproom blog.

Recently, through the magic of facebook -I was reconnected with a "long lost" cousin on my father's side of the family. Because I don't have any contact with that side of my family, it was very neat to get in touch with Krystal, as we grew up together. But, we hadn't seen each other in 17 years. We both moved away when our mothers divorced our fathers (who are brothers). The parallels in our lives though are uncanny!

We are both teachers, married to techies, with a pug mix dog! Exception being she has 2 little ones :) Since our last names changed, it made it harder for her to find me - but as she posted the day after we met for dinner "my missing piece is found". I couldn't wait to print these pics off and scrap the memory while it was still fresh! Everyone at the restaurant kept asking if we were sisters. It was such a fun night of reminiscing! We already have plans together again.

The patterned paper is by American Crafts. I "popdotted" the Cricut/Sure Cuts A Lot title for both depth and contrast.

The luscious flower is from Precocious Paper!

Thanks for looking! Do you have a facebook story?! I'd love to hear it.
