Owl I Want For Christmas :)

I'm so smitten with the "Winter Owl" stamp set from Lawn Fawn! You can see the fall card I used the owl on HERE. Today, I wanted to incorporate the holiday sentiment and make a tag for one of my hubby's gifts.

I cut the scalloped heart and layers from the Sweethearts cricut cartridge at 4.5" as my tag base and I love how it turned out!

ACK! Isn't it so cute. I have red/white wrapping paper that will really make it pop. I did some reverse stamping with owl to make another owl facing the opposite direction. Very easy to do, with a little patience ;) They are each paper pieced with grey/kraft cardstock and red/green patterned papers. You know I couldn't resist adding googly eyes!

Another thing that took a little bit of patience, but SO easy - was masking the sentiment so I could stamp it out horizontally under my little owl sweethearts. The finishing touch was adding the itty bitty heart stamp to the centers of the snowflake background.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Hope you had a wonderful holiday.. I'm ready to pack away the fall decorations and start singing carols ;)

I'm sharing my tag at the Lawnscaping Challenge

and at Paper Issues - Holiday Happy theme  :)

A Wedding layout ;)

Happy Saturday! I can't believe March as come and gone. April begins tomorrow and so does the wedding season. I believe my husband and I have 2 weddings this spring/early summer. I decided to break out my "Sweethearts" cartridge for Emma's "Throwback Thursday" cricut challenge and create a wedding layout:

I used Basic Grey's "Little Black Dress" papers and flower buttons.  I love this collection!

I tried something new and embellished my photos using the "Urban Chic Frames" transparency overlays by Hambly. You can check them out in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store HERE.

Meet my stepmother and youngest brother :) I used my "Sweethearts" cart to cut this heart frame for my title.

I also cut the coordinating "envelope" and tag. However, I cut it smaller and used it as a hidden journaling pocket.

I can't believe it's been 3 1/2 years and I'm *still* working on my wedding photos. But.... if I were done, I wouldn't get to use the latest formal occasion papers in my album, right? At least that is that is what I will tell myself ;)

Cricut Cardz - Challenge #87

Welcome to another challenge at Cricut Cardz! This was a real challenge for me. Create a thank you card using any cricut cartridge, use a heart image, AND no red/pink. I was stumped!

First, I picked out the heart I wanted to use on the Sweethearts cartridge.. then I sorted through my paper and nothing non red/pink was jumping out at me. Then, I turned to my ~cough cough~ stacks! ~cough~ of neglected 6x6 pads and decided to use papers from Crate Paper's Restorations line.

I ~love~ the result!

What do you think? I love how challenges help stretch our creativity and step outside our box ;)

Clean and Simple!

I tell my students you learn something new everyday - even when you are out of school. Today I learned that CAS stands for clean and simple ;)

And CASual Fridays is having a "bling" challenge. I paired it with Paper Trail's doily challenge to create this classy, clean & simple thank you card.

The sentiment comes from my Sweethearts cartridge - I just love the font! The bling are red gemstones.

A golden anniversary!

Peachy Keen Stamps is celebrating their 50th challenge with a sketch card AND use gold :)

I decided to make a "golden" anniversary card! I was lucky to have a gold foil specialty cardstock in my stash and I embossed it with my D'vine Swirls cuttlebug folder, leaving a strip at the bottom for my Scrappy Mom Stamps sentiment.

The champagne glasses were cut at 2 1/2" from my Sweethearts Cartridge. I added golden rod stickles for the 'bubbles'. Happy 50th challenge anniversary Peachy Keen! ;)

Bridal Shower

Tis the season, right? More bridal shower pictures :) This time it is my beautiful niece, Isabella, though! She was cracking up that there was an umbrella with holes in it to put cards in at the party. Then she said, oh cause it's a bridal "shower"... I get it.. LOL! We were cracking up at that one!

I just love how it turned out! Most of the products used are Bo Bunny's "Crush" line - which I bought JUST for this photo. I'm entering it in their "Stamping and Stitching" challenge. I used my white gel pen to faux stitch and dot around the patterned paper grid. I also used my number stamps to stamp and emboss the date at the top in white.

This Bo Bunny "Secret Crush" petal is my favorite part of this layout! I just love the black tulle and big red gem. It really adds a fun touch to her girly page.

To add definition from all the patterns, the photo and title (cut from the Sweethearts cartridge) are all on pop dots!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend!

A wedding card :)

My best friend from college is getting married this weekend and I wanted to make her a special card. I used my favorite wedding cartridge, Sweethearts, that my sweet friend Sue picked up for me at her Michaels when they were having that crazy $10 sale!

I made a faux shaped card I guess you'd say :) The blue scallop rectangle is standard card sized that I layered on a card base I trimmed down... clear as mud?

I embossed the beige layer with my Victorian embossing folder and lightly inked the impression with brown dye ink to give it more definition. I also inked the other edges and their last name (cut with SCAL).

Is it too soon to say TGIF?! ;)

Endless Love :)

So, it may appear that I'm a little late for Valentine's Day ~ but I can profess my love all year long right, lol?

I created this card, for the Paper Trailmakers blog, inspired by the song Endless Love.

I used my Sweethearts cartridge to cut out the scalloped heart and "date night" silhouette. The stamp "true love lasts forever" is from Emma's "You Had Me at Chocolate" set.

TGIF!
