Even though the last time I blogged about Project Life was Week 12 (gasp!), I am trucking along on what has become our family album :) It is really cool that the first half of the year was BB (before baby lol) and the second half of the year will be AB (after baby). I am only 2 weeks away before I can document THE CALL. That is motivation enough for me to keep going.
Anyway, back to Week 22. My friend Sandi has a challenge up at our PL blog "Week 2 Week" to make your own journaling card. I made 2 on this spread:
This week highlights Memorial Day:
Fun the last week of school:
A taste of summer:
Hanging out with the guys:
Oh yes, and the 2 journaling cards I made. The first one is a 3x4 card. I used a journaling block for starters from Echo Park's "Todays Story" and added an arrow from Freckled Fawn. I used alphas from Simple Stories to write an inside joke phrase ;) You can also see my bestie's son ... gosh isn't he cute?
'
The next one I made was a 4x6 card. I started with a patterned paper base cut down from My Minds Eye paper. This is a pic of the fetal models we use in our first grade health unit lol. My kids LOVE our baby unit.. which features basic information on how they grew and why they are special etc. Teachers HATE this lesson lol. I dread it more because my husband and I were unable to conceive and this makes it sound SO easy. Every year my kids ask me when I am going to have a baby and its hard to say "I don't know".
This year, my students knew about the adoption process, as I had to explain to my parents that at any moment I could possibly be on maternity leave. So when I got the big question this year of when I was going to grow a baby, one of my students piped up and said no no no remember someone ELSE is growing her baby and it's not ready yet. WOW. I teared up. Then they got into the frightening discussion that were going to MISS it if my baby was ready over the summer. I laughed at that... well who is laughing now?
If you're still with me.. THANKS! You can see the make your own journaling challenge at Week 2 Week. I am also linking up at Whimsical Twist for their summer blog hop.
Have a great week!
