Mom

My layout "mojo" has been missing this week. So busy at school and everyday life getting in the way of my scrapbooking time :) I did, however, make a clean and simple layout tonight for the Basic Grey sketch challenge:

I used my new "Little Black Dress" papers and embellishments. This is my Mom and I posing at my wedding. It's been a while since I worked on that album! It was a nice change of pace.

TGIF! I hope to make a couple more layouts this weekend :)

Folded Flower Tutorial :)

It's my turn for a tutorial on The Paper Variety's blog today. I'm showing you how to make a fun folded flower embellishment. Pop over see!

Isn't that pretty? I layered my folded flower onto a die cut doily and added it to my embossed, white card base.  I'm loving the pink, grey, and white color combination.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

I'm also sharing this card at Cardz TV's "think pink" challenge.

Have a great Saturday!! :)

Cards Times Two :)

I created 2 cards tonight using sketches at Cards Positioning Systems:

The first one is a landscape fold card for Valentine's Day :)

I used an awesome calendar stamp set by Jillibean Soup to create my February scallop square, with a brad on the 14th ;) Papers are "Lost & Found: Union Square" by My Minds Eye.

The second card is a portrait style card using this sketch:

I used American Crafts' "Springtime" collection, including a fussy cut flower from their fabric paper. Loved working with that!

I'm also entering this card at Frosted Designs for using twine - that's "Caribbean" from The Twinery! What I wouldn't give to be on the beach right about now ;)

What a week! Glad it's the weekend, how about you?

Flashback Friday

Although the below card makes me cringe, I love the challenges at Flashback Fridays. How fun it is to look back and see how our crafting style has evolved :)

This week's theme is "black and white". I dug through the archives and found this gem:

Circa March 2009.

Yikes.. check out the staples! And... I do love that pop of color, but red and gold with black and white.. really Suzanne?

Things I like:
1. That fabulous camera angle..  just kidding ;)
2. The vellum.. I should break that out again sometime.
3. That I embellished the inside (even with the hideous corner punch lol!)

And the best part.. IT'S FRIDAY! :)
I thought this week would never end lol.

Good morning! February already?? With the first of the month, brings a new challenge at The Paper Variety! And we've got a fun sketch for you designed by our very own Abby!

Isn't that fun?!
Our sponsor this week is My Scraps & More.
Let me tell you Tammy ROCKS! :)

Our prize for this challenge is a fabulous Authentique paper kit. Authentique is one of my favorite new paper companies! See some of my Authentique layouts HERE.

Here is my take on Abby's sketch:

These are candids of my hubby and I before his sister's wedding in Colorado. Can you believe our 8 year old niece took these pics? I love them!

I had to use Imaginisce's "Berrylicious" collection when I saw the funny face my hubby was making in this bottom pic. Such a ham!! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!! Be sure to check out THE PAPER VARIETY today and everyday through the 15th for daily sketch inspiration and tutorials -- and to link up your own take ;)

Have a great week!!

Critter Valentines :)

The theme this week at Cricut Cardz is VALENTINES! Use any cartridge you'd like and make a sweet lovey dovey card for someone. I could not resist my beloved Create a Critter cartridge for this one. And deciding which critter to use was impossible, so I made a 4 card set :)

Aren't the adorable? I used Bo Bunny's "Crush" 6x6 pad to make these little square notecards. I used My Creative Time's "You Had Me at Chocolate" stamp set.

Here are some close ups:

Which one is your favorite?

Head over to Cricut Cardz to see what the rest of the design team created and like up your own valentines! :)

I'm also sharing these cards with:

Have a great week! :)
