{{December Magic}}

Everyone told me that four was the BEST age at the holidays. [So far] they were right. The title "December magic" and that face says it all! She was SO excited for Christmas Eve and her new flannel, gingerbread pajamas. I'm so glad I documented it!

I used the sketch at "Sketch N Scrap":

Snowy days make the best scrapbooking days! :)

{{Rudolph}}

Now that the tree is down and toys put away, it's time to for this momma to get back in the scraproom and start documenting Christmas :) I loved the sketch Rochelle posted this month:

For my Mom's birthday in December, I took her, my brother, and my daughter to see the musical play of her favorite Christmas movie -- Rudolph. It was FANTASTIC. You can see a clip of it HERE on you tube.

I am also entering this into Brenda's Christmas cartoon challenge -- inspired by the theme (Christmas), colors (red, green, blue) and icons (Santa, reindeer and specifically, Rudolph :)

I trimmed down the program to include as my title, along with the ticket from the show. I love these selfies we took during intermission.

Those cute reindeer are from Doodlebug and remind me of Rudolph and Clarice :)

I hope you had a wonderful holiday!!

Home Decor with Authentique

I was at a playdate with my daughter a few weekends ago and in their kitchen, I saw the neatest thing. She had framed some of her grandmother's recipe cards! As I was admiring the aged, handwritten words - I knew what I wanted to create for Authentique's home decor challenge this month.

I remembered I had taken photo at Christmas time of a my grandmother's cookie recipe to use on a holiday page. I printed it at 4x6 and embellished it in this 8x10 frame.

Ironically, I used Authentique's "Infused" 6x6 papers, which I bought to make a card set for said tea-loving grandmother :)

Infused-sneak+peek

I fussy cut one of the papers "life is sweet" for the bottom left corner. I backed the white heart doily from my stash with pink glitter cardstock. I adhered these crocheted flowers to the top of the frame for dimension and because they seemed like the perfect match for these gorgeous papers.

In our kitchen, my husband built these amazing floating shelves, which hold a collection of sentimental frames, our wedding glasses and cake topper and more. Now, it displays a piece of her as well!

Have a great weekend!

Smile & Let Your Soul Shine

This layout was HARD... I'm so invested in my project life album that I couldn't even get my mojo going to make this traditional page. But I wanted to! I got this pretty new paper from Authentique's Flourish collection and didn't want to cut it down.

The lighting wasn't the best this evening; but it was now or never to get this on the blog :)  I am sharing this with Frosted Designs for their mom/floral inspiration photo. Love these pics of my baby girl and I (plus daddy and her) on the floral mat.

I'm also sharing this layout at Scrap & Play for their "Flower" word play challenge.
                                                         F - four photos
                                                         L - leaves
                                                         O - one manufacturer (Authentique)
W - washi tape (on bottom of page)
                                                         E - enamel dots
                                                         R - roses!
                                                         S - smile title

Thanks for stopping by today! 14.5 days of school left (but who's counting?!) then it's time to get serious on "catching up" with my albums. Remind me of this June 6th when my toes are in the sand and I'm planning a first birthday party! HAHA!

Have a good weekend!

On This Journey

I'm on a mission to scrap the rest of my wedding photos :) The last layout I made was this one in May.

I knew I wanted to make a page with the same Authentique "Journey" collection and some close up photos from our carriage ride. The sketch this month was perfect!

I used 2 photos and mirrored the page, but otherwise stuck close to the sketch:

I love how it turned out! I added this cluster to the top right hand corner. I also used the same MFT Decorative Doily die on this layout to bring both pages together:

These photos are some of my favorites.. it was the only time I had a chance to actually sit and talk to my new hubby! lol!

The stitching took pretty much the entire length of the Cowboys vs. Ravens football game Sunday (still heartbroken over that loss); but was worth it for me. I had to hot glue my "journey" title on since it wouldn't stick very well to the thread.

So next to each other the spread will read "On this journey, I'll cherish you".... almost 4 years later I think we're doing pretty good! ;)

Thanks for stopping by tonight!  Have a good week!

Loving Life :)

My friend April recently addicted me to Ali Edward's stamps... there's no turning back now! My first set was "Loving Words" and I have several more on the way to my mailbox after a ridiculous sale she shared with me. I couldn't wait to use the sentiment "Loving life with you by my side".

Tomorrow is the anniversary of my hubby and I's first date :) I wanted to make him a card and loved the sketch this month at Authentique:

I used the masculine papers in the 6x6 Freebird "Comfort & Familiar" collection to make this:

~swoon~ I am so happy with how it turned out! I embossed the script in white on the dark green cardstock (same as the card base). I fussy cut the > > piece on either side.

I *finally* picked up a small heart punch. I popped each of these up (6 hearts for 6 years!).

I hope he likes it as much as I do or I might ask for it back!! lol! :) Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

Sunset :)

Good afternoon! It's a heat wave here on the East Coast and I'm enjoying the AC and scrapbooking :) I created this layout for the Authentique sketch challenge ;)

I used their latest "Glory" line for these patriotic pics of an evening sunset over the battlefields.

I substituted the circle in the sketch for the star (fitting don't ya think?) and embellished it with these quilted heart flowers fussy cut from the patterned paper.

I created the borders with my Martha Stewart embossed zig zag punch and some burlap. Thanks for stopping by today! Stay cool! ;)

Patriotic Thanks :)

I've been dying to use my Authentique "Glory" 6x6 pad. And what better way than with the Authentique card sketch this month!

I made "thanks" card, mirroring the sketch and replacing the rectangles with stars:

I used the Martha Stewart punch "Embossed Zig Zag" on the left edge. I die cut the stars using my cricut, with coordinating solid color paper (b side to the patterns) from the collection.

Of course, I used my favorite Paper Smooches "Sentiment Sampler" for the "thanks" pennant :) Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great weekend! :)

Celebrate!

I've been "saving" my new "Celebrate" collection from Authentique.. it was about time I broke into it ;) I used the monthly sketch challenge at Authentique to get me started..

I used a photo of my bestie, Jess, and I from New Year's :) What a fun night that was! I loved working with these non-traditional colors!

I'm also sharing this layout at Scraptastic kit club for using a banner and staples (top left corner of my photo) and Burlap and Buttercup's "no kids allowed" challenge.

I hope everyone has had a great weekend! It's time to clean up the scrap desk and tend to the house and school work ;)

A Precocious Paper Sneak Peek :)

Good evening! I'm SO happy to have tomorrow off school for Presidents Day. This weekend has been fun, relaxing AND even productive.. I don't want it to end just yet. I was able to complete quite a few projects for design team work - one of which I received permission to post tonight.

Are you ready for a Precocious Paper sneak peek?? You will LOVE these new embellishments from Tessa! They are called Ruffle Blossoms and they rock!

They are made of fabric and I love how they are spun and sewn with frayed edges :) Tessa has left the centers open for your personal touch - so they may coordinate with any project! Here's what I did with my pink one:

I used it on a super girly layout of our niece, Alexandra, and my sister in law Kelly - from her wedding in Colorado last summer.

I just love their smiles in this photograph and really wanted to showcase it :)

I used the Authentique layout sketch for my design. I substituted the faux paper lace heart for the square mat.

The patterned papers and diecuts are from the "Uncommon" collection, which may be my favorite of their previous releases.

I'm also sharing this layout with My Craft Spot (girly) and Burlap and Buttercups (my style). My style is pretty clean and simple, with patterned papers and a cluster of embellies. I love big titles, too!

Thanks for stopping by tonight; stay tuned for lots of  projects this week!
