Using my favorite Cosmo Cricket Snorkel and my Create A Critter cartridge!

Scrappin'-n-Chattin will be holding an Everyday Layout Challenge next month! $6 entry fee towards a prize from your scrappin' wishlist, entered to win if you create 1 layout each day in June. Come join the fun!

I'll be posting my layouts, along with other creations this month, so check back often! ;)

With 7.5 days of school left, my hubby going on his week-long golf trip, and my Tuesday summer crop with my teacher friends starting in 2 weeks- it's going to be a very scrappy kick off to summer!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!

But today's card is for the next holiday, Father's Day, for My Pink Stamper's latest challenge! :)

I used a K&Co patterned paper, my Cuttlebug Swiss dots folder, a Studio G stamp set for the sentiment, and my favorite - these little screw brads.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

24 Hour Layout Challenge!

The latest challenge at Scrappin-N-Chattin is the monthly 24 layout contest. Our wonderful hostess April, notes 3 of your current collections, picks 3 sketches and chooses a partner for each person. Your partner picks the sketch and collection they want you to use. And you have 24 hours to make the layout!

My partner this round, Kristie, picked this sketch with my Basic Grey Lemonade.

I made a page with a photo taken last year - my hubby and I with our 2 beautiful nieces. I used K&Co coordinating embellishments, gifted from my friend Abby. Thanks!

Love the 3d look! The scallop border is a Sure Cuts A Lot file and cut on my cricut. One of my favorite designs!

I finished this challenge with 2 minutes to spare! LOL. The next day, I made the 2nd page with more photos of that day.

Here they are together!

Thanks for looking! :)

Home Tweet Home

One day last week, I returned home from school exhausted. Ready to see Jax and prop my feet up, I walked into the kitchen, peered through the window and saw this little guy in our sunroom! I couldn't let Jax out (through the sunroom) into the yard without getting the bird out first, or else I'd have an even bigger problem on my hands! LOL. Luckily, I was able to keep dog from catching bird and getting both outside.

I didn't think I was going to be able to do the "punny" title challenge, because I didn't want to "force" it - until this little situation happened. Of course, I took a picture of the bird making himself at home in the sunroom. Then it hit me "Home Tweet Home!" Perfect!

I had to use my Create a Critter! I cut the birdies at 3 1/2 inches and used the "flip" feature key to make the birdie looking left. I added a google eye and used my cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" folder on her wings and flower. I added a brad to coordinate with the background. I also cut the birdhouse (I added the "stick") at 3 1/2" and ran through parts through the cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" folder, as well. Lastly, I cut the title at the same size!

Just another day in the Suzy household! LOL! I love scrapping everyday stories :)

The Stare Down :)

When I saw the new challenge up at Scrapfit - I cringed. Only cardstock?! No patterned paper!? I'm the patterned paper queen! I have enough to wallpaper all the houses on my street. Wouldn't that be fun and colorful? I regress, no patterned paper. I didn't think I could do that one.

Fast forward 3 days later, I'm looking through my stash to find some doggie themed papers for a layout I want to do of Jax. I decide to use one of these cool journaling boxes from Bo Bunny's Pet Shop line. I keep digging, but unfortunately I can not find any of the coordinating papers. I even searched online where I could pick up a few sheets. I certainly couldn't let these go to waste! Then it hit me, use just cardstock with them. So I dug out some orange, blue, brown, and green for the base. I love the result!

As long as my die cut sheet doesn't count as patterned paper, I think I pulled it off :) And I *love* these pics of Jax at the top of the steps, staring down at me. He is sulking that I'm leaving for work. LOL!

Goodnight!

Spongebob :)

is what my cousin's little boy is obsessed with! :) EVERYTHING that is Spongebob. So when I found this patterned paper at my local craft store I knew I would use it with his birthday pics.

I used Sketchy Thursday's 2 pager!

It felt good to print out all these pics, without editing them, and cutting them up in this fun collage. Just a fun layout for a fun boy :)

Watching American Idol and working on another layout... are you Team Lee or Team Crystal? Go Crystal! :)

My Sweetheart

I played with the Bo Bunny layout challenge sketch today. I used the Love Bandit collection leftover from this layout, along with double dot cardstock.

This is my husband surprising me with flowers and a movie on our 3 year dating anniversary. We normally go mini golfing at the site of our first date but were rained out.

I put adhesive on only 3 sides of my rose photo to create a journaling pocket. I'm going to write on the front and backside of this little spot (but didn't want in the picture lol).

The 5 circles (cut from their die cut sheets) and the little squirrel in the top right picture are on pop dots for dimension.

Thanks for looking! It's laundry, relaxing, and scrapbooking on this rainy Sunday for me :)

So Windy

I decided to try the June sketch for guest designer at Sketchy Thursdays!

I picked a photo from our trip to North Carolina last summer. This is me on top of the lighthouse, hanging on for dear life LOL. It was so windy!

I made these paper pinwheels using up scraps from my stash that coordinated with my patterned paper background - from DCWV Green Stack. I wanted to frame the layout so I used black yarn and black felt.

Thanks for looking *crosses fingers* :)

Skunk card!

The 2nd card challenge this month at Scrappin 'n Chattin was to make a window card. Something cut from the front of the card that shows through to the inside.

I stamped my new Hero Arts woodgrain background stamp on craft cardstock with Chesnut Roan Colorbox chalk ink. It fits perfectly on an A2 sized card and a very clear impression.

I went to my favorite cartridge, Create A Critter, and cut the "phrase" on the cow button - this little speech bubble. I lined my 8.5" x 5.5" inch stamped card base on the top right corner of my mat and cut the bubble out at 1 3/4" approx 1" down and 2 3/4" from the edge. It was the perfect size/fit!

I cut this cute little skunk from the same cartridge at 3". I used a white gel pen to for faux stitching around the bubble and stamped "hey" with a set of dot alpha stamps.

Here is what the card looks like opened.

Thanks for looking! Hope you're having a great week!

A very special layout

..using this very cute sketch from the Scraproom blog.

Recently, through the magic of facebook -I was reconnected with a "long lost" cousin on my father's side of the family. Because I don't have any contact with that side of my family, it was very neat to get in touch with Krystal, as we grew up together. But, we hadn't seen each other in 17 years. We both moved away when our mothers divorced our fathers (who are brothers). The parallels in our lives though are uncanny!

We are both teachers, married to techies, with a pug mix dog! Exception being she has 2 little ones :) Since our last names changed, it made it harder for her to find me - but as she posted the day after we met for dinner "my missing piece is found". I couldn't wait to print these pics off and scrap the memory while it was still fresh! Everyone at the restaurant kept asking if we were sisters. It was such a fun night of reminiscing! We already have plans together again.

The patterned paper is by American Crafts. I "popdotted" the Cricut/Sure Cuts A Lot title for both depth and contrast.

The luscious flower is from Precocious Paper!

Thanks for looking! Do you have a facebook story?! I'd love to hear it.

For You

There is an everyday card challenge going on over at Scrappin' N Chattin. Today's challenge (for a bonus entry) was to use purple and green with this sketch.

I made my first square card with Basic Grey's Green at Heart collection. After the squared layers and mat were adhered, I stamped the image "For You" before running through my Cuttlebug using the Argyle folder. I love the texture! Then, I added the flower - the center jewel is more purple than blue in real life.

Thanks for looking! It's cold and rainy here in Pennsylvania. I hope to get some more scrapbooking done this evening!

For a Deer Friend :)

Tonight's card uses this Mojo Monday sketch.

I used the fawn from Create a Critter and hand wrote my sentiment to match.

Have a great week!

Hip-Hip-Hooray!

I made this adorable card for our 6 year old niece to congratulate her on her awesome report card. Love this lil hippo! It was inspired by Robyn's card.

The hippo is cut at 3 1/2". The water and grass are cut at the same size {everything is proportional} and run through my Cuttlebug folders "Tiny Bubbles" and "Leafy Branch".

I don't normally decorate the inside of cards, but since I cut the sentiment and it didn't fit - I matted it with the reverse side of the polka dotted paper on the front. I think it's so cute!

And also HIP HIP HOORAY! My little blog now has 50 followers :) Thanks so much for taking an interest in my crafts.

Happy!

I love this sketch from Sketch Inspiration! As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to use a special 5x7 photo of Dave and I from our North Carolina vacation.

I used the Ambrosia collection from Basic Grey. It was perfect!

This also qualifies for the My Pink Stamper "May Day" challenge, as I used a layered flower for something spring related. I was so happy when I found that grey button! It matches perfectly.
