Cricut Cardz Challenge #65

There is a really fun challenge this week at Cricut Cardz! This week we are creating cards that fit in a business size envelope - approx. 9x4".

I cut mine at 9" x 6 1/2" inches and scored at 4 inches. I used my Martha Stewart doily lace punch on shorter width.

I just love how it turned out! The little baby is cut with my New Arrival cartridge with an adorable Peachy Keen face. I embossed the green mat with my Cuttlebug swiss dots folder and my Paper Trey Ink sentiment with white embossing powder.

Head over to Cricut Cardz to see what the rest of the design team created and enter your tall cards today :)

Happy Birday!

A "anything goes" birthday card for my friend Kristie's birthday card challenge blog!

This card is made up of all scraps! The birdie I cut to go with this layout, but decided to make another one and flip it. The papers are all Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety leftover from previous layouts, too.

I ran some of the pieces through my Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" folder to mimic the bird seed at the bottom!

The birdie and speech bubble are both from the Create A Critter cartridge. The sentiment is stamped wit Fiskars basic font clear stamps (and my own handwriting).

Thanks for looking!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!

But today's card is for the next holiday, Father's Day, for My Pink Stamper's latest challenge! :)

I used a K&Co patterned paper, my Cuttlebug Swiss dots folder, a Studio G stamp set for the sentiment, and my favorite - these little screw brads.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Home Tweet Home

One day last week, I returned home from school exhausted. Ready to see Jax and prop my feet up, I walked into the kitchen, peered through the window and saw this little guy in our sunroom! I couldn't let Jax out (through the sunroom) into the yard without getting the bird out first, or else I'd have an even bigger problem on my hands! LOL. Luckily, I was able to keep dog from catching bird and getting both outside.

I didn't think I was going to be able to do the "punny" title challenge, because I didn't want to "force" it - until this little situation happened. Of course, I took a picture of the bird making himself at home in the sunroom. Then it hit me "Home Tweet Home!" Perfect!

I had to use my Create a Critter! I cut the birdies at 3 1/2 inches and used the "flip" feature key to make the birdie looking left. I added a google eye and used my cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" folder on her wings and flower. I added a brad to coordinate with the background. I also cut the birdhouse (I added the "stick") at 3 1/2" and ran through parts through the cuttlebug "Swiss Dots" folder, as well. Lastly, I cut the title at the same size!

Just another day in the Suzy household! LOL! I love scrapping everyday stories :)

Crazy for Critters :)

I made 2 more cards tonight using the Create A Critter cartridge! My new embossing folders came in the mail today and wanted to try some of them out.

First up, this cute dinosaur! I used the green layer as my base cut, instead of black to save on paper. So I added a googly eye where the green showed where it would have been black. I ran the dark purple layer through my Cuttlebug using the Tiny Bubbles folder. It feels/looks really neat in real life. I thought he would be perfect for a kid card :) I used DCWV Animal Stack for the patterned paper strip.

The second card is the cutest cupcake! I used the shadow feature for my base to give it more definition. I ran the light pink layer through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. They look/feel like sprinkles!

Both cards use the Stampin' UP! set Mini Mates for the sentiments.
Thanks for looking! :)
