Project Life: Week 4

Sundays just aren't the same without football, are they? I finished these Project Life pages over the course of the week and just had the chance this afternoon to photograph and blog :)

Here's the left side:
Those gorgeous flowers were sent to me by my bestie :)

I used a 4x6 card from Echo Park "Today You" for my title. I love the chalkboard look!

The inauguration quote card came from a free printable in the Project Life facebook group I belong too. I embellished with a fussy cut banner and punched stars. We had family game night at school. A candid shot of my class working on their Martin Luther King projects:

Our newest niece was born on January 22nd. Thank goodness for technology because she lives in Colorado :( I used my new Paper Smooches stamps for the "Welcome Baby" title and some tiny pink gems. I love how this card turned out (and her!).

A close up of the 2nd page..

I love these cards from Pebble's family pack. I actually trimmed down the teal paper and layered on pink for a pop of color. How true is this?

I am enjoying working on one or two cards each night, adding subtitles and small embellishments; like this photo of a snow squall that came on Friday.

Ah, life. My Jax getting in trouble. This time I grabbed my phone for quick pic before he went to time out. That cutie is my neighbors' little girl ;)

I am TRYING to include a pic of me at least every other week (since I take all the pics). Mission accomplished. Date Night ;)

Lastly, our double date friends -there's those dotted alphas from last week's page. They are so fun!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed your weekend as much as I have. Mondays come too soon :(

Kid Birthday Card

My hubby needed a birthday card for his boss' 6 year old son. I used the sketch at Artful Delight this month:

FEBRUARY CARD SKETCH ASC#29

I dusted off my cricut and used this robot from the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge along with my My Minds Eye "Lime Twist" papers. I really like how it turned out!

Hope you are having a fun Sunday!

Love You!

Yes! I'm ahead of the game and made my hubby's Valentine card this afternoon :) I loved the polariod on this card sketch at The Sampler Kit club:

So I found a little candid of our pup and I. I also incorperated the polka dot trend watch at Paper Smooches Sparks challenge blog:

I used Paper Smooches' "Geographic" background stamps to emboss the dots in white on black cardstock, resembling the gray border in the sketch:

I also fussy cut the polariod picture, after stamping it with 2 stamps from the "We Connect" stamp set.

I love black, white and red for masculine love cards :)  Hope you're having a great Saturday!

Project Life: Week 3

It felt great to get another week documented this weekend :) Here is Week Three:

A close up of the left page:

There wasn't a lot going on this week/weekend, so I filled in with a photo of the inside of our fridge on a Monday.. stuffed with fresh groceries, packed lunches, meat thawing for that week's dinners, and pizza boxes from the weekend before :) The title journaling card and stickers shown here are from Pink Paislee "Portfolio" and Pebbles "Home".

I am enjoying having school pics in my PL album.. here's a hot chocolate my fellow first grade teacher friend surprised me with - as our grade level was on "door duty" getting kids off the buses and greeting them.. IN JANUARY. brr!! This cutie is my neighbor's son. I fussy around him and adhered to ledger paper. Love this look!

A close up of page 2.. isn't my pup ridiculous?

I treated myself to these itty bitty polaroids by Studio Calico.. this is our appetizer at one of our favorite restaurants. The 4x6 card is by Simple Stories.

This is probably my favorite card this week.. a simple 3x4 card from Pebbles "Seen and Noted" phrase cards, that I embellished with a doggie border and doodle penwork.

Ah, another slice of life. Spending my weekend working on my report cards. I do enjoy sitting in my sunroomk which on sunny afternoons gets nice and warm even on winter days!

There you have it! Week 3 in the books. I started Week 4, but will not get a chance to finish it. Time for Super Bowl festivities and lesson plans for the week :)

Project Life: Week 2

Why does LIFE keep getting in the way of my PROJECT LIFE album? HAHA! Seems like an oxymoron doesn't it. Truthfully, life has been BUSY.. but.. in a one weekend I was able to "catch up" on the last 2-3 weeks. I love that! Here's a look at Week 2:

I am loving using a variety of configurations for my pages, I am using Photo Freedom by Echo Park. You can find the different varieties HERE. The left page has 3 4x6 pockets and 1 6x12 pocket. I struggled with how to keep my album about REAL LIFE, while sharing it with (everyone??) and keeping some things personal. I will always keep the details of our adoption private; so this is my solution :)

For my "week" card, I used papers from My Minds Eye "Lost and Found 2", a fussy cut viewfinder from Echo Park "Note to Self", and some thickers :)

My husband *finally* found his dream truck. He SO deserves it too; providing for our little family and always putting us first. I wanted to do a masculine insert.. so I used tire tread patterned paper Those fun alphas are from October Afternoon "Midway" collection. I *love* the computer printed journaling telling the story of this eventful day.

I included a picture of his license plate (that says TRUCK.. lol) and new insurance card with the details of the vehicle that I wouldn't know otherwise! ha! The bottom subtitle is what he posted on Facebook, in reverence to THIS country song :)

Here is the 2nd page. I am keeping my weekends together so my weeks run from Monday-Sunday and I really like that. This particular weekend, we had my bestie's 1 year old overnight because her mother-in-law came down with the flu. We had a blast, taking him to an agriculture expo to see lots of animals!

This is my favorite card this week. Braydon on my hubby's shoulders, just pure joy on both their faces. The embellishments are pieces of Echo Park's "Happy Moments" collection.

Is there anything better than bath time?? I was more soaking wet on the outside of the tub, than he was inside LOL! I wanted to put a paper strip across the bottom of the photo to protect privacy, and loved this "These are the days" border from the same EP collection. I thought about cutting it in thirds and having it go across all 3 pictures at the bottom, but it wasn't going to look right. So, I adhered it to the outside of the protector :) I love it!

Here, you can also see more journaling printed on vellum so the adorable farm patterned paper still shows! All these fun stories of the week, told and documented on 2 pages. Excited for a downtime day at home to work on weeks 3 and 4 :)

I'm sharing this layout with Kerys's challenge to incorperate this word art theme (pretty sure Project Life covers that ;)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Forever & Ever

February already? Tis the season for love! I made a non-traditional Valentine's card for the latest Paper Smooches color challenge:

I love the orange, grey and white color scheme that I wouldn't normally work with. I used my new "We Connect" set:

And here's my card ~

I masked off the "ever" part of "forever" to create the sentiment. I love the different styles of ampersands!

All the white embossing got a little messy, but I think it gives it a fun chalkboard-y effect ;)

PS - it cracks me up that people have emailed to say this song reminds them of the Taylor Swift song "We are never, ever, ever getting back together.." LOL!  It's in your head now, too, isn't it??

Have a great Saturday!!
