You Lift Me Up!

Have you seen the new challenge over at The Paper Variety, yet? The sky's the limit!!

Easy cheesy, right?! And you could win this fabulous kit sponsored by Stacy at The Scrapbooking Cottage! You have to stop by her store. Free shipping over $25 - all the time! :)

I made a card for this challenge - using some patterned paper and chipboard from this set, as well as some Cosmo Cricket mini alphas...

Can you spot my new "toy"?! Look closely...

Oh yeah, that's my first attempt EVER at machine sewing. Not too bad? I bought this little beauty on Ebay earlier this week and it came tonight.

I thought it would be a good paper crafting sewing machine for a beginner like me. I mean, if I could figure out how to "load" it all up and stitch with it in one evening, anyone could!! Okay, okay, I admit my technology-genius hubby helped me a little bit :P

TGIF !!! Can't wait to play with it this weekend on some layouts.

Sympathy Card

My hubby asked me to make a masculine, sympathy card for his great uncle (who's wife just passed away). I used Basic Grey's Origins 6x6 pad, a Verve faith stamp (thanks April!), a Paper Trey Ink sentiment and this sketch. I really like how it turned out, despite the circumstances.

Hope you're having a great week! :)

Down on the Farm!

Today I used an awesome double page sketch by Julie Bonner! I decided to load up on pictures, from a recent visit with my cousin and her little ones. We took them to a farm near our home.

I used my new goodies from My Little Shoebox - Simple Life and Priscilla collections.

I'm so happy with how this layout turned out! The title was cut on my Cricut with a really cute font downloaded here and paired with the tiny alphas, also from My Little Shoebox.

I backed the cardstock stickers in black cardstock and popped some of them up for added dimension.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a great weekend! :)

Bohemia Card

Raided my scrap drawer again for this card and rediscovered these wonderful Bohemia papers from My Mind Eye. Can you tell I'm digging my new brown satin ribbon? :) The "thinking of you" sentiment is by Paper Trey Ink.

I used this week's sketch at Get Sketchy. I embossed the pink cardstock with my "Bloom Dots" cuttlebug folder. I inked the raised design in brown ink for and added a few clear epoxy stickers for added dimension.

Thanks for looking!

Fall fun :)

I love fall! I made a few thank you cards this morning - excited to spend the say at home scrapbooking and watching football.

I used my favorite, but feeling neglected, Create a Critter cartridge and patterned papers from my scrap drawer :)

Isn't that little squirrel adorable?

You still have time to enter The Paper Variety's 2nd challenge - feeling fall inspired? Play along with the ABC recipe - autumn colors, border(s), cinema inspiration. You don't want to miss out on a chance to win this week's prize by Treasure Box Club!

Papercraft Star Challenge #14!

A game I know all to well being a 1st grade teacher. This one is more fun than the typical kind though! It's a "Simon Says" challenge!!

  • Make a Card
  • Base: 5.5 x 5.5
  • Mat: 5 x 5
  • Score Mat 5 times at 1/4 inch
  • 3 Flowers from Die Cut or Punch
  • 3 Buttons & Twine
Here's my take on it ! I decided to make a wedding card. I haven't tried twine yet - so I substituted lace instead. Sometimes you have to do that when you don't have all the ingredients for a recipe ;)

Hope to see your project linked up at PaperCraft Star!! :)

The Paper Variety's 2nd Challenge!

Last week's sketch challenge was so fun! Thanks to all who played along.

We are all about variety and this week we have a recipe challenge for you. Don't worry it's as easy as ABC! :) Just make sure your project includes these 3 things - autumn colors, a border, and cinema inspiration.

I pulled my autumn colors from Basic Grey's Origins patterned papers - browns, greens, and yellows. Perfect mix for pictures of my sweet Jaxon.

One of Julie Bonner's fabulous sketches brought this page together. I had high hopes of stitching a border around my page, but opted for a simple pen line instead.

My cinema inspiration is the wonderful movie Marley and Me. I printed in on my computer on kraft cardstock, cut into strips and inked in black. I read the book first and this quote really spoke to me, so I used it for my journaling:

“A dog has no use for fancy cars, big homes, or designer clothes. A water log stick will do just fine. A dog doesn't care if you’re rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he'll give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?– John Grogan, Marley & Me

A few felt dog bone brads were the finishing touch! Thanks so much for stopping by today - I hope you join us at The Paper Variety for this week's challenge! Check out what the rest of the design team created, too, lots of inspiration to get you started : )

Cricut Cardz Challenge #43!

Mary has another great card challenge posted for you to create with your cricut! This week we are making gender-neutral baby cards. Only green, yellow, orange, and white allowed!

Here's my take -

I used Basic Grey's Origins 6x6 pad - love the greens and yellows! I cut the bee from Create A Critter at 2 1/2". I added google eyes and diamond stickles to give him/her more personality! The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink.

Stop by Cricut Cardz to see what the rest of the design team created and link up your card! :) Check back later this morning for another post using this great paper collection!

Thank You!

This time of year really makes me think about our beautiful wedding :) What better way to reminisce than with a layout?! This is one of my favorite pictures.

I used my brand new My Minds Eye Union Square papers, brads, and embellishments - along with their sketch/prompt this month. So elegant!

A few details..

love these yummy brads!

so glittery!

The journaling reads:

Thank you ... for loving me, for being my best friend, for asking me to marry you and for making me the luckiest girl in the whole world.

Okay, I'm done being all mushy ... for now! ;)

Eat, Pray, Love

My first canvas project - inspired by my ultra crafty friend Michelle! :)

I made this 12x12 canvas for my Mom - she loves the book/movie Eat, Pray, Love.

Patterned papers by the Paper Studio - I cut the title on my cricut and added gems for dimension on the flourishes.

The flower is by Precocious Paper. Love the colors!

Thanks for looking ~! Have a great weekend :)

The Paper Variety's 1st challenge!

The wait is over!
Our first challenge launched today at The Paper Variety.
Abby created this versatile sketch..

I flipped it horizontally and scrapped more photos from our niece's baptism. This is my husband, Dave, and our older niece. They have such a special bond, it needed a special layout :)

I used Bo Bunny's Alissa line and a Precocious Paper flower. My favorite are the doodle dots/lines around the border!

Come play along for a chance to win this fabulous kit from The Paper Poppy!

Paper Poppy Kit Co. Prize

Come join the fun & see what the rest of the design team did. WOW!
