Simple Stories "Harvest Lane"

Fall is my favorite season! And you know I *had* to have Simple Stories' "Harvest Lane". Love the colors, the project life cards, all the patchwork elements:

I found this awesome sketch at Pamela's World:

I stuck close to the sketch, except I used one special photo from our trip the corn maze :)

Sorry for the bad pic.. the sun goes down so early (one thing I don't like about fall lol!).

Aww I love this goofy pic of us. Such big smiles. I love this man so much! We are going through such a trying time right now, but knowing he's by my side .. ah, so thankful I'm not doing it alone.

Thanks for stopping by today !! :) Happy fall!

Some Kind of Wonderful..

You know the song right?

Maybe not appropriate for this terrible hurricane - but worked great for my layout ;) I used this sketch at ScrapFit:

.. and Basic Grey's "Konnichiwa" collection. Love this line!

That's our niece, Isabella, who came to spend a weekend at our house last month. So much fun!

Love that large element sticker; which is on dimensionals.

I'm sharing this layout at Paper Issues for their "50 Shades of Grey" link up :) Thanks for stopping by today!

Simple Stories SN@P!

I'm in love with the new Simple Stories line.. SN@P!  I am moving to Project Life in 2013 (if not before) and this is just my style.

My online friend, Sandi, is giving some of this awesome collection away on her blog. She is celebrating 150 followers! But don't stop by and check it out because I *need* it :) lol! Just kidding ;)

Now back to bracing for the wrath of Hurricane Sandy :/ Stay safe everyone! I'll be crafting by candlelight ;)

Lawn Fawn Love!

I have a new love.. Lawn Fawn stamps! I bought 2 of the new releases "So Thankful" and "Winter Owl". They are the cutest little sets - that I really wanted to use together.

The Lawnscaping blog is having a challenge to try something new; so in addition to using 2 sets for 2 different season on a card - I also decided to add a new element inspired by the challenge at Moxie Fab World.. burlap! I've used it on THIS layout, but not a card. I thought why not??

Here's the result:

Ack! How cute is he? I used marks to color his body and paper pieced his scarf. I masked the pumpkin behind him (also paper pieced) to make him more fall-ish and less winter-ish :) It works right?

Sounds crazy, but I think this is the first time I've masked an image like that! I'm more of a scrapper, than a stamper/cardmaker but I'm falling in love..

Love the sentiment in the "So Thankful" set and embellished it with a button.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you're having a great week :)

You Make Me Smile

I took the plunge and bought my first set of Paper Trey Ink stamp and die sets. I have had "The Sweet Life" on my wishlist for a while! It sure didn't disappoint. As soon as I opened the package, I put them to work and made this card using the sketch at Artful Delight:

The papers are Basic Grey and the sentiment is Ali Edwards... perfect for the friendship challenge at A Passion for Papertrey.

Thanks for stopping by this evening! TGIF tomorrow! :)

On This Journey

I'm on a mission to scrap the rest of my wedding photos :) The last layout I made was this one in May.

I knew I wanted to make a page with the same Authentique "Journey" collection and some close up photos from our carriage ride. The sketch this month was perfect!

I used 2 photos and mirrored the page, but otherwise stuck close to the sketch:

I love how it turned out! I added this cluster to the top right hand corner. I also used the same MFT Decorative Doily die on this layout to bring both pages together:

These photos are some of my favorites.. it was the only time I had a chance to actually sit and talk to my new hubby! lol!

The stitching took pretty much the entire length of the Cowboys vs. Ravens football game Sunday (still heartbroken over that loss); but was worth it for me. I had to hot glue my "journey" title on since it wouldn't stick very well to the thread.

So next to each other the spread will read "On this journey, I'll cherish you".... almost 4 years later I think we're doing pretty good! ;)

Thanks for stopping by tonight!  Have a good week!
