No Bones About It!

One of the challenges over at Scrappin-N-Chattin was to create a Halloween layout, or if we didn't have Halloween pictures - to use Halloween themed papers and/or embellishments.

I don't have any Halloween pictures, so I decided to go to my favorite subject and think outside the box. Here are some misc. pics of my boy Jax. My husband says it looks like his head is cut off in the bottom left photo (lol!), but it is his head resting on the leg of the chair in the dining room. He does this when we are eating dinner!

Until I went back and looked for pics on Dave's computer, I forgot I had this priceless picture of Jax at the beach. He was so homesick!

Here is what they look like together. I used 3 different Cosmo Cricket lines [Get Happy!, Haunted, Wanted] for the challenge going on over at Embellish It! I also used my Cricut/SCAL to cut the title and bone for Just Buggin's challenge this week.

Thanks for looking! And speaking of Halloween, don't forget to enter into my big blog candy for a whole collection of Cosmo Cricket! Drawing this Saturday.

Siblings

It wouldn't be a Sunday of scrappin' if I didn't spend 6 hours on a wedding layout! I bought this brown patterned paper with the gold shimmery swirls at AC Moore yesterday and knew it would be perfect for this. It just took me forever how to use it! This is my husband and his 3 wonderful sisters.

Here is the 2nd page, with a photo of him and each sister individually. I struggled with whether to say sisters or siblings and decided on siblings; but I'm sure there will be a page somewhere in the album with sisters.

Here is what they look like together. I used a font I found on this cool site and cut it with my Sure Cuts A Lot (new version 2.0!).

Thanks for looking!

Deja Vu

The fall season has definitely been "deja vu" for Dave and I. This time last year wedding preparation was in full swing! It was fun to be on the other side of things last weekend, as we were guests for our friend Eric's wedding. It's been awhile since I've gotten a nice picture of us!

It was so fun watching the happy couple cut the cake - and they were so nice to each other unlike a different groom that shall remain nameless who got icing up his new wife's nose and chocolate cake on her dress! LOL

The journaling on the patterned paper was a last minute decision, but I love how whimsy it turned out. With the exception of the Basic Grey Bling It arrow, everything is Bo Bunny's Mango collection.

Here is how they look side by side! Thanks for looking.

Sketchy Thursdays

I played with the Sketchy Thursdays sketch this afternoon.

I had to use this older picture of Jax laying beside me, doing report cards on my laptop. This was same scenario Tuesday night, right before he tripped on the cord and sent my laptop crashing to the floor. Gotta love him.

Halloween Card

I made a Halloween card today for Just Buggin's 8th challenge. Since I do not have the Wild Card cartridge, I used Plantin Schoolbook to make my die cut card. I cut my cardstock at 8 inches by 5 1/2 inches to make a standard size. I unfolded my card on my mat. I used the center point feature, positioning the blad at 2 inches since my card would be 4 inches across when folded. This created my 1 1/2 inch circle centered on my card. I stamped this cute spider on the inside.

I used cardstock stickers from Cosmo Cricket's Haunted collection. I love how the hand looks like its grabbing the spider.

Update

After a very devastating hard drive crash, I have my laptop back up and running. Later today I should receive a quote on the cost of recovering all my pictures and files and another week to have them back if I choose to go that route. Cross your fingers for me.

Until then, here are a few "oldies" for you (that were stored in my yahoo group's photo albums!). And this must be the month for giveaways ~ scroll down to find out Precocious Paper's latest. Thanks!

This is our beautiful niece, Isabella, at Christmas 2007 with her first American girl doll.

This is my husband Dave, and our new puppy Jax. The journaling tells the story of how we named him.

New York City, December 8th 2007. Dave proposed on the ice rink :)

Another layout of Isabella. My husband refurbished a laptop for her for Christmas 07.

My scrap space, feeling so neglected this week.

The Broken Road

This song was the theme for our wedding, printed in our invitations and also our last dance. While our guests walked downtown from the church to the hotel reception, we took a carriage ride through the battlefields and took a few pictures. I had to have one of us on the road for this layout. I was scared to do these pages, I wanted them to live up to all the emotion I feel when I hear the song. I thought it would have a more sentimental look, but once I got started, it turned out kind of fun and funky. The tree was my inspiration. I made it with my cricut. Then, I added the fence (cricut) and grass (K&Co borders). I used papers and chipboard from the Die Cuts With a View Animal Crackers and The Green Stack lines. The title is my first try at mixing fonts, colors and stickers/thickers! I really love how it turned out. Thanks for looking.

Leave a comment on this post and your email address and I will RAK one person with a few of these fall trees. I just love them!

Shop til You Drop

I played with the Page Maps sketch challenge today. I used photos from a shopping trip last year, that resulted in this layout.

Here is my take on it: I used papers from DCWV's Green Stack and thickers.

And the second page of the layout..

That's me on the left, my sister-in-law Emilee on the right. I'm so glad to have a "sister" to go shopping with!

Jeff Dunham

My favorite comedian/ventriloquist is Jeff Dunham. You can see a few of his funny clips on you tube. A friend got us tickets to see him live for our wedding gift., what a surprise!

I used Cosmo Cricket's "get happy" kit for this double layout. I think it shows how much fun we had that night.
