On the Square

Merry Christmas Eve Eve !! :)

Here's my 3rd layout using the Artful Delight Scrapbook Kit.

I love how our town decorates the square at the holidays.

I used my punches with patterned papers/cardstock and the sew banners in the kit to make these ribbon embellishments.

And because he's feeling neglected on the blog since baby M came along ;) An aerial view of my layout photography. Jax says hello!

Have a great week!!

Welcome Baby Boy!

My husband's coworker and friend just had a baby boy yesterday. He asked me to make a card.. sure thing! I went to my favorite baby set "A Little Lovin" from Paper Smooches. So I am entering their Anything Goes challenge as well.

I used an older My Minds Eye 6x6 pad for my layers and paper piecing. The rounded, light blue mat is popped up so those adorable elephants could nestle inside the circle.

My friend Danni RAKed me some charms recently and was thrilled to use one on this card. I love using clear stamps and being able to stamp them on a curve. I repeated the sentiment and put a tiny rhinestones between them.

Thanks for stopping by! TGIF! :)

Making Spirits Bright

This is my 2nd layout for Artful Delight using the December Scrapbook kit.

These are my cousin's kids Gabe and Lucy last Christmas. Love them!

I used red stickles on the letters that came in the kit.

I used my circle punch to create the scallop.

My layout was inspired by the sketch at Stuck! I'm also sharing at Whimiscal Twist for their holiday challenge. Have a great week!

12 Tags of Christmas

My friend Sandi is rocking the Christmas tags! She had me itching to make some of my own (and the perfect craft to squeeze in during naptime!).  I'm playing along with the 12 Tags of Christmas series and lifting Kittie's beautiful design!

Tag left

I loved the birch trees, silhouette ... here's my take using patterned paper, my Child's Year cricut cartridge and my new Season's Tweetings Lawn Fawn stamps:

I popped up the birdie in the tree, as well as the snow bank in the foreground. I paper pieced the blue and colored the beaks and red accessories for a pop of color.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend.

Happy Holidays!

Tis the season.. I loved the inspiration over at the 12 Tags of Christmas post at the Ellen Hutson blog.  I loved Kelly's design:

And made this one using my Echo Park papers and sticker.

I love adding a handmade tag to our packages! :)

We are smiling in this pic, but as the journaling reads in the upper left hand corner says we just had to "fake it till we make it". Well it's Christmas 2013 and we finally have our lil one (who was SO worth the wait). We made it baby!

{Artful Delight} Look a Likes

Good morning! Today, I'm sharing my final layout with the Artful Delight November Scrapbook Kit! I had so much fun working with it this month. I used many of the patterned papers and embellishments that remained unused on this layout (inspired by the sketch at Stuck?!):

Man, I love these 2. It's crazy how much our daughter (who is adopted) resembles my husband.. down to her hairline, her eyes, and especially her expressions.  I didn't REALLY see it until I snapped this pic of them watching football together.

Again, I fussy cut one of the sentiments from the paper to use as a subtitle.. added some of the lace trims and flowers.

I love that grey/white camera paper and used some of the Sky Mr. Huey's mist in opposite corners.

Hope you stop by Artful Delight to see more inspiration. Have a great week!

Celebrate!

My bestie's birthday is coming up next week and I wanted to get her card finished before the craziness of Thanksgiving prep starts. The color challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks challenge was just the inspiration I needed!

I went to my (overfowing) drawer of 6x6 pads and pulled out 4 fun B side patterns with these colors.

And then went to work stamping my favorite rose (from the Pretty Mama set) onto my white card base.

There is something theraputic about paper piecing for me :) I had so much fun making this print. I then used the Celebrate sentiment from Pretty Phrases, embossed in white on black, to finish it off.

TGIF!! Have a great weekend :)

{Artful Delight} The Story of Snoopy

As you know, we adopted our baby girl in July.  Baby M and her birthmom share a special stuffed animal, an adorable pink snoopy. When I saw the pink ombre paper from MME in this month's Artful Delight kit, I knew I wanted to print this special journaling on it. After a lot of measuring and trial and error, I got it to work and love there result!

(click the photo to read the full story)

I was also able to include the tag that came with Snoopy.. so fitting ;)

This arrow paper was another favorite in the kit and worked great to put the attention on my sweet lil one's expression.  The chalkboard "everyday is a blessing" sticker finished it off. This kit also packed with high quality cardstock which I used a lot of on this layout for layering!

{Artful Delight} Boppy Love

Happy Monday! Time to share my 2nd layout with the Artful Delight November Scrapbook Kit!

This week, I used the sketch at GCC. I just loved the photo duo and those fun arrows!

You are familiar with the most ingenious pillow made for new Moms right? The boppy? My friend offered me hers and I thought I wouldn't need it... I mean I can hold a lil 7 pound peanut just fine, no? Oh no. You need the boppy. It was a lifesaver in feeding, sleeping, well - living - with a newborn :) And guess what? Our dog Jax loved it too.

He didn't want to miss out on the boppy love, so any chance the baby wasn't using it, he took full advantage! I lost it when I came downstairs to find him first curled up in it, chewing his bone no less. I probably should have freaked out about the drool but hey, throw a blanket down before placing baby in and we are good to go, right? Well she survived 4 months so I think I'm in the clear ;)

Yep, he's spoiled. I love the blues and pinks in this kit! I cut those awesome arrows from the houndstooth paper, balancing the layout with an accent triangle in the top left corner.

I cut one of the chalkboard quotes for the corner and punched one out with my circle punch, layering on a scallop circle.

Stop by Artful Delight to see what the rest of the design team is creating with this month's kits and order one for yourself! :)

Have a great week!

PS-I'm also sharing this layout at Rochelle Spears for having a family theme and Kristi B's for having dots and chevrons (because chevrons cut in half are really arrows, right?)

5th Anniversary Card

I love stripes! So this week's trend watch at Paper Smooches was right up my patterned paper alley ;)

I can't believe tomorrow marks 5 years of marriage with my sweetheart. I made this card tonight (okay so add a 4 month old to the mix and I am lucky I even had time to make a card at all HA!)

I diecut the negative of the number 5 using my cricut from red cardstock. I ran it through my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and popped it up on top of the fun diagonal stripe.

I used my favorite Streamers stamps to create my own sentiment using Alphadots. I love the dimension and fun colors.

Thanks for stopping by.. TGIF!! :)
