What Little Girls are Made of...

Is it Friday yet?? I've caught a serious case of spring fever with these 80 degree temps in March (probably from my first graders who think that summer is around the corner now.. how confusing!)

Anyway, it's the 15th which means a new challenge at The Paper Variety! And we've teamed up with ScrapFIT to offer you 2 challenges in one!

The Paper Variety has created a sketch challenge and ScrapFIT has offered up a jounaling challenge. Put them together and you will get an awesome layout and a chance to WIN a prize from both places!

The Paper Variety's sketch challenge...

and ScrapFIT's Workout #64 journaling challenge-
Its Easy as 1, 2, 3...

"The 'Its Easy as 1, 2, 3..' Workout is here and all you have to do is list out numerically your journaling on your layout! This could be a list of your Top 10 favorite moments from last year, a list of goals for the new year or the countless reason you love ScrapFIT (Just kidding!). Show us your numbered list!"

Be sure to incorporate this journaling workout with the TPV sketch above so you can enter your layout at both places!

The randomly chosen challenge winner at TPV will receive Bo Bunny's Alora collection kit!

Also!
TPV will award a random commenter this fun Echo Park "A Boy's Life" collection kit!

For your chance to win A Boy's Life, just comment on both todays ScrapFIT Workout #64 post here and todays TPV challenge post here. You needn't enter our dual challenge to win this prize. This is simply a giveaway just for leaving a comment at each blog! :)

I loved working with Abby's sketch and the journaling challenge at ScrapFit. They inspired me to use this adorable picture of  my nieces and list what "what little girls are made of". Aren't they just the representation of "sugar and spice and everything nice"?? I used the new Neapolitan line from American Crafts, including that awesome date roller stamp :)

I have more details and a step by step video on the A Walk Down Memory Lane blog.  I can't wait to see what you create! :)
Now hop on over to ScrapFIT to see how their team worked this Sketch Workout! Enter your layout at TPV and ScrapFIT for a chance to win prizes at both places!

Have a great Thursday!! :)

Cricut Cardz - Wearing Green! :)

Good morning! Welcome to another Cricut Cardz challenge brought to you by Mary at Cardz TV! This week we are making St. Patrick's Day cards. I immediately went to my favorite leprechaun on Simply Charmed. I cut him at 3", assembled the layers, and added some yellow stickles to his hat and button. :)

I didn't have any St. Patrick's Day paper, so I went through my patterned paper scraps and found these fun patterns from Pebbles. A diagonal strip with bright blue, green, and orange and a coordinating orange houndstooth. I decided to layer the orange on the postage stamp cut from Create a Critter.

Looking back at the challenge, I should have used more green :) Good thing I decided to add that  ribbon lol! Hop over to Cricut Cardz to see what the rest of the design team created and link up your own green themed St. Patrick's Day cards :)

Have a great day!

Quick Quotes: Chipboard Lasercut Dies! :)

Oh dear! Here's my layout I made on Friday for Quick Quotes, scheduled to post then but realized I had saved it as a draft instead :)

I used the new Tin Type collection, along with our featured chipboard laser die cuts!

As the layout says, I can't believe my baby brother is 20! Ah! That means I turn 30 next month, but I digress :)

I used the Cupcake "Bag o' Chips" laser diecuts to bring in the birthday theme. These are SO versatile because you can ink them, paint them, emboss them, cover them with paper.. the possibilities are endless! I used the Baja Blue and  Mango Mai Tai Powderpuff Chalk Inks to color them. The balloon is popped up on pop dots and the candle flame is glittered for added detail.

I inked the cupcake with the same Baja Blue ink, as well as the Mocha Moma Powderpuff Chalk Inks. The top piece is popped up for dimension.  I layered the cupcake laser die cut at the bottom on an orange circle from the Tin Type collection, also inked in Baja Blue Powderpuff Chalk Ink.

I added the "Best Traditions" vellum quote strip to the top left corner of my layout. I cut the bottom edge with a ribbon "V" and I inked the edges with the Baja Blue Powderpuff Chalk Ink (love how I can coordinate my whole layout with these chalk inks!!) It was a perfect sentiment for our birthday dinner tradition. Pictured are myself, brother and grandmother :)

"Birthday Dinner" Quick Quotes supplies:

Other supplies:
Fiskars "Threading Water" border punch
American Crafts Mustard "Typo" Thickers
Cosmo Cricket Brown "Tiny Type" Alphas
Ranger Yellow Stickles

Hope you had a great weekend!
So sorry that Monday is one hour closer.. lol!

Precocious Paper *Blog Hop*

TGIF!! Am I the only one who thought Friday would NEVER get here! Oh how glad I am I have a few hours before the weekend starts ;) But first, let's get to the Precocious Paper blog hop!

If you are coming from Elisa's blog, you're in the right spot. If not, you'll want to start back at Tessa's blog to get started.

I *love* Tessa's embellishments!  It's REALLY hard to pick a favorite, but it has to be her brand new ruffle blossoms!

Vintage Sage - Ruffle Blossoms

I even made time tonight to make a layout with one of these beautys.. amazing how American Idol can spark my creativity.. lol!

One of the things I love about these blossoms is that the centers are left blank for you to coordinate with your project. For this blossom, I used a sweet spot from the For Like Ever set. Here's the whole layout:

Did you say "awww"? Because I do every time I look at it on my desk, lol!  That's our adorable niece Alexandra - who just ADORES her Uncle Dave (my hubby). I took these candid pics with my cell phone camera of her hoppin' on his back and giggling.

A few close ups of my title "This girl totally adores you" which was made with several different leftover alphas! There's another sweet spot, too :)

This layout was inspired by the last sketch challenge at Page Maps. As soon as I saw the two small photos, I knew it would be perfect for these. All patterned papers are from Echo Park's "Victoria Gardens" collection.

I hope you've enjoyed my "precocious" project and are taking advantage of the amazing specials/deals/giveaways going on this week. See THIS post for all the details. I'd also like to wish Tessa a happy Etsyversary! :)

Your next stop on the hop is Cassie!
Have a great day!

If you're new to my blog, my name is Suzanne. I've been married to my wonderful hubby, Dave, for 3 years and counting. We live in Pennsylvania with our 5 year old high-maintance puggle, Jax.
