{{drive}}

Happy Thanksgiving vacation to me! I couldn't wait to get in my scraproom and play with  Ali Edward's Drive story kit. It was perfect for these pics of my brother's 21st birthday, when my husband rented a mustang for their road trip. Isn't that "drive" acrylic awesome?

I used Brenda's sketch, adjusting it a bit with my 4 instagram pics.

I also used Rochelle's cork or wood challenge - I used a man wood veneer.

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your turkey day! :)

{{Halloween Nights}}

Good Saturday morning!

I was so happy to dust off my cricut when I saw the pumpkin challenge at Fantabulous Cricut - it has been neglected lately and fall is my favorite season. Good excuse to make some time to play with paper!

I cut this adorable pumpkin family (and the spider!) from the Doodlecharms cartridge. Doodlebug paper is the perfect match for these fun images (even more fun with googly eyes!).

This is my little family last year on Halloween. A rare candid picture (not a selfie!) of the 3 of us had to get its own layout. I also dusted off my Martha Stewart punch around the page spider web set for a fun frame.

Have a great weekend!!

Hunting, Fishing, {{LOVING}} Everyday!

If you're a country music fan, you know this one:

And it was our summer anthem :) I knew it had to be the title of my daughter's first time fishing.

I know I'm partial.. but isn't she just the cutest?! I used the sketch at Elle's Studio

ellesstudio-sketchthursday-09-15-16

and their adorable "Little Moments" collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! TGIF! Have a good weekend.

{Sea Sun Sail}

Wahoo for 3 day weekends!  I hope to finish my January-June 016 album and that means part 1 of our Cape May sunset dolphin cruise - featuring a favorite cousins photo. My girl is the little one ;)

I used the fun sketch at Stuck Sketches!
and my new Echo Park Mermaids collection.

Enjoy your Saturday!

{{ Dream Big My Little Ball Cap Cutie }}

For the past 3 summers, my hubby has been trying to get our daughter in a ball cap. This year - he finally succeeded! She picked out this cute, pink whale hat at the beach and wore it all week. It helped that it was HOT, that her hair is long enough for a pony tail thread through the hole AND her cousins all had hats too. Man, did she look CUTE! and a lot older too :(

I used Simple Stories So Fancy (one of my FAVORITES) and this sketch at Brenda's blog:

I also used washi tape for Rochelle's challenge.

TGIF!!
Have a great weekend!

{{ Sit Stay Heal }} Take Two

Unfortunately I needed 2 get well cards today, so this is my second take with the same cute set. I used the color challenge with MFT Card Challenges

I made a 5x5 square card since is is going into a care package for my friend who is having surgery. Other plans are keeping me from visiting until next week, but wanted to let her know I was thinking of her - and you know send her a good book and some chocolate ;)

I used My Favorite Things You Have My Heart set, along with the Decorative Doily die.  I was really challenged by the blues and grays - but I think it turned out really pretty! :)

Have a great week!

{{ Sit. Stay. Heal }} Take One

My grandma took a fall yesterday, so during naptime I made this card to cheer her up. I can't believe I haven't used this My Favorite Things "You Have My Heart" set yet. I love the punny sentiment!

I used the sketch at Mojo Mondays and an older Authentique 6x6 pad.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week :)

{{COUSINS}}

I have such fond memories of my cousins and I growing up together!! I am so glad my daughter is blessed with the same treasure. Here she is with my husband's side of the family.

The new Echo Park mini-collection cousins comes in both girl and boy versions.. I might have squealed when I saw it. So perfect!

I am entering into Rochelle's Scrappy Friends challenges. For her "this or that" prompt, I used a white arrow paper clip. I look forward to Brenda's sketches every month, July's is awesome:

I am also sharing with Scrapbook Circle's challenge to use a wood element. I used wood veneer hearts scattered on the patterned paper. Tessa's work totally inspires me!

Thanks for stopping by; enjoy your Sunday!!

Ice Cream Thanks!

TGIF!!

I finally dusted off my cricut and made this cute ice cream diecut using my Simply Charmed cartridge. I needed a cute thank you note to send to a friend who recently sent me a RAK {random act of kindness}. Returning the favor with a sweet treat!

I used glitter cardstock for the strawberry scoop and had to add googly eyes!

I am entering the Fantabulous Cricut challenge to use an ice cream die cut for National Ice Cream Month :) That's a holiday I can celebrate! Especially on these HOTTTT days of summer.

Whats your flavor? Mine is a toss up between salted caramel and cookies and cream - YUM!

Shell - a - brate :)

My daughter is having a Little Mermaid themed party on Saturday - so I had to create a little card to go along with it :)

I used the sketch at Mojo Monday and all papers/stickers are Imaginisce.

Have a great week!

SSSSeriously?!

My daughter, she's fearless. When this photo was taken, she was 2 and about 7 years younger than any of the other children at the local Ag Center's reptile presentation. Yet, she sat in a row on the floor with them and listened to the presenter. When small critters were passed down for petting and holding - I was so proud touched a turtle and a lizard and a frog!

And then the boa constrictor came out.

And she raised her hand to volunteer to hold it.

WHAT.

The instructor made eye contact with us and we timidly nodded our permission to let our TODDLER hold THIS.

Needless to say, it deserved its own page in the scrapbook.

I used the sketch at Sketch N Scrap :)

{One Day My Prince Will Come}

Let the wedding scrapbooking begin! My daughter was recently a flower girl in our friends' Memorial Day weekend celebration. I just go the pictures back and well, they're amazing lol.

I used a sketch at Let's Get Sketchy for photos of her with the ring bearer.

I used some papers and embellishments from my stash (which is out of the box for me, I like using coordinating papers from a collection):

Happy sigh.. aren't they just the cutest?!

A Special Graduation!

I just finished my 12th year of teaching first grade. Do the math and you'll find my first students just walked across the stage in their caps and gowns - oh how they've grown into wonderful young men and women! A coworker (who also shared in the joy of her first class graduating) and I attended graduation and were SO proud to congratulate them all in person. I took my first grade class photo from 2004 and held it in this photo of my "little Nate". That bright smile has not changed, even though he's now a foot taller than me!

I used the awesome Bella Blvd "Star Student' collection - with Brenda's sketch:

I am also entering it into Rochelle's challenge:

I have those cute owls on my page :)
Thanks for stopping by - have a great weekend!

You're One Smart Cookie!

The minute I saw this lil Lawn Fawn set, I knew it had to come home with me. I am a first grade teacher who loves puns - and can see making toppers with set for a lil bag of cookies for my kids who do great on an assignment.

Those kids - they grow up. And my first class first graders JUST graduated {layout coming later today with THOSE pics!} - so I have some graduation cards to make also.

I stamped and embossed the diploma on the cardstock base to make my own patterned paper. I also went with our school colors of white, red and black. I paired the stamp set up with Quinn's ABCS, too!

I am linking up with the Lawn Fawn challenge - oh how I would LOVE to get those mermaids for my daughter's Ariel themed party!

Have a great weekend!

Best Dad in the Sea!

Wahoo! 10 days early and my Father's Day card is DONE! :)
The sketch at Mojo Monday was perfect for my idea:

A little backstory .... every night my hubby reads this book to our almost 3 year old daughter. She is really into Finding Nemo right now (a nice break from Little Mermaid lol).

And for Father's Day, I am surprising him with tickets to see Finding Dory in 3D at the iMax theater - it will be her first theater movie. He will be SO excited! (because let's face it we are more excited about Finding Dory than I think she is haha!)

I teach - Whats your superpower?

HELLOOOOO Summer Vacation!! :)

Hence my first layout in a LONG time. And guess what? IT'S ABOUT SCHOOL!! LOL!

When I saw this month's sketch at Creative Scrappers.. I knew those stars would be perfect for my superhero themed layout.

Superheroes and school.. you're wondering what's the connection, right?  Well, each year for Teacher Appreciation Week our PTO goes all out with a theme and this year was TEACHERS ARE HEROES. Pretty awesome right?

I spent my first and last time in HOT TOPIC on a Sunday night looking for the perfect superhero shirt to wear to school on that Monday and so glad I did! They  had the whole lobby decorated with skyscrapers, stars, and a telephone booth (( had to explain that one to the kids!! )) Insert I feel old now sigh here.

This slogan was hanging on all of our doors, along with attributes that make us a great hero :) So clever and fun and APPRECIATED.

Side note - how fun is that Wonder Woman flair?! My hubby voted for that and got vetoed. My last name starts with S so my first graders loved my shirt and thought it stood for ME. lol!

Thanks for stopping by today - have a GREAT week!

{Hello!}

I needed 2 just because note cards and used the fun sketch at Mojo Mondays:

I raided my scrap drawer for these papers and tried the die cut inlay technique with this Lawn Fawn sentiment die. So fun !!

Now, I have 2 more diecuts set aside to make more cards :) Hope you are enjoying NSD! :) Have a great rest of the weekend.

This collection was definitely a favorite!! Love the black with brights!!

I created this layout to document my NEW car... not a new to me car.. but my first NEW car! There's no turning back now. I went from not even having power windows to heated seats and keyless start! EEK! And to think I let my 2 year old eat in the backseat... LOL!!

How fun are those mini chipboard frames?!!?
Everything on my layout is included in the April kit with the exception of the thickers:
