Project Life 2014: Week 9

The new school year is in full swing, my baby girl is now a walking, talking, into everything TODDLER, and I'm STILL trucking along on my Project Life albums (both second half of 2013 and beginning 2014).

Here is week 9 of 2014 :)  I can't believe she was this little just a few months ago!!

Project Life 2013: Week 30

Dusting off my blog, on this rare chance to have a day to myself this summer!  It's been a SUPER busy one - vacations, first birthday parties, sickness (who gets sick in the SUMMER?! apparently my daughter and I). I have been busy editing and printing pictures (thank you Shutterfly 101 free prints sale!) and ready to tackle my Project Life pages.  I am WAY behind, but I'm not going to let it get me down. I'm living life and making memories - isn't that what it's all about? :)

So........ I really wanted to play with my stamps (thank you YouTube inspiration.. loving Jen McGuire's videos for a quick fix when I can't get creative myself) and play along with Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge.

I decided to do a throwback PL page in my 2013 album, which ironically is exactly a year ago. And guess who was born a year ago just 3 weeks after my baby girl? Her future husband (a momma can wish right?)

I used the super cute A Little Lovin' set for the little frog prince. How adorable is he with the polka dot paper? Lots of gold for this royal!! :)

Here's how it looks on the whole spread:

And here's my own itty bitty at just 3 weeks old! Love her! And I love this burlap and blue together, even on a baby girl page.

Anyone else get crazy and have a yard sale this summer? My bestie and I do it together every year and have way too much fun pawning our junk treasures on others. This year, I even sobbed over parted with some of my baby items to make room for toddler toys.

And here's "me and my bestie" after we got caught in the rain cleaning up said yard sale :)  I LOVE this heart bokeh paper from Echo Park.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are enjoying your summer as much as I am (and finding a little time to get creative!) Here's to more PL pages to share soon :) Have a good weekend!

Smile & Let Your Soul Shine

This layout was HARD... I'm so invested in my project life album that I couldn't even get my mojo going to make this traditional page. But I wanted to! I got this pretty new paper from Authentique's Flourish collection and didn't want to cut it down.

The lighting wasn't the best this evening; but it was now or never to get this on the blog :)  I am sharing this with Frosted Designs for their mom/floral inspiration photo. Love these pics of my baby girl and I (plus daddy and her) on the floral mat.

I'm also sharing this layout at Scrap & Play for their "Flower" word play challenge.
                                                         F - four photos
                                                         L - leaves
                                                         O - one manufacturer (Authentique)
W - washi tape (on bottom of page)
                                                         E - enamel dots
                                                         R - roses!
                                                         S - smile title

Thanks for stopping by today! 14.5 days of school left (but who's counting?!) then it's time to get serious on "catching up" with my albums. Remind me of this June 6th when my toes are in the sand and I'm planning a first birthday party! HAHA!

Have a good weekend!

Kiwi Lane BLOG HOP!

Blog Hop Header

Good morning! I am so excited to be apart of the Kiwi Lane Designs BLOG HOP! You should have came from Alicia's blog, if not you'll want to go back to the Kiwi Lane Designs Blog to start from the beginning!

I had the pleasure of working with the Tiny Bracket Templates! These were so made for my Project Life album ;) The perfect size to add interest to your 4x6 and 3x4 cards: just trace onto cardstock or patterned paper, trim with scissors or an exacto knife. Inking the edges hides any imperfections!  Love them!

I typically create the traditional "weekly" Project Life pages. You can see my 2013 and 2014 album pages HERE. This week, I decided to make a spread devoted to the Color Run that my husband, friends, and I ran 2 weeks ago. We took SOOO many photos I just couldn't pick one to cram in that week (which also included EASTER!). So here goes..

Talk about COLOR! Right? :)  Well it was the "Color Run" which is named the "Happiest 5K on the Planet". And let met tell you .. it was FUN!

Close up of left side:

and the right:

I used the "Bracket 4T" and repeated it twice to get this design on the top of my title card. I journaled with a white pen the place and date of the race.  That runner is white embossed from a stamp set by My Creative Time.

Pre-race "facebook approve" selfie of my sweet hubby and I. Everyone got shirts, sunglasses, headbands, and other fun accessories for the race.  I love that transparency on the left!  I layered 2 of the same brackets for the right border.

I took a picture of my bib and shrunk it for this 3x4 card.  We ran through Camden Yards baseball stadium so had to get a before pic in front. I used Bracket 2T for the bottom edge of the photo.

Did you see the Academy Awards and Ellen's selfie pic she tweeted?   This was our take! lol!!

My hubby took this pic of me as we were getting ready to go through the green color. I used "Bracket 3T" and another white embossed stamp from My Creative Time. Under that arch in the background, race people throw colored (cornstarch?) powder on you and by the end.. well.. you'll see what we look like ;)

Here's the group "after" shot of all the girls. I teach with these wonderful ladies!  The black card seemed to achor all the brightness ;)

Victory!!! At the finish line, they give each runner a pack of color to throw in celebration. Love this action shot!!

It was all fun and games until my darling hubby DUMPED his blue powder pack over my head.   He thought it was HILARIOUS until I reminded him I was riding home in HIS truck! HA! Last laugh! ;)

Another "after" selfie to prove I didn't disown him after that stunt ;)  I was just relieved it all washed off - after all the next day was EASTER!

Thank you SO much for visiting my blog today! Be sure to leave a comment below, as one lucky blog hop participant will win a a $25 gift certificate to Kiwi Lane Designs! :)

Your next stop on the hop is Roselyn!  And special thanks to Jen from Kiwi Lane Designs for inviting me to join the fun and work with her awesome templates. She is a sweetheart and one talented lady!  Check out all of the Kiwi Design Templates HERE.

Dance in the Rain

A very sweet friend of mine is going through a hard time and I wanted to make a bright and cheery card of encouragement for her.  The challenge at Sugar and Spice was having an inspiration challenge:

and gave me the idea to use my favorite quote. Which I am lucky to have on the "Lean on Me" stamp set by Scrappy Mom Stamps.

I used my new patterned papers from my 6x6 Splendid Sunshine pad by Echo Park. I cut the cutie umbrella from the Create a Critter cricut cartridge and added the punched heart. The middle layers are popped up for dimension.

I hope this card brings a smile to her face and lifts her spirits! :)

{My Creative Time} Project Life 2014: Week 4

I am so honored to be a guest designer today on the My Creative Time blog!! I LOVE Emma's stamps and dies. She just released "Bracket Sentiments", which are perfect for Project Life!

Bracket Sentiments Stamp Set

I used them (and many more products) on my 2014: Week 4 pages:

I used the "worst day ever" sentiment on the top of this card, journaling the worst (coldest!!) day ever to have bus duty at school. It was FREEZING. I stopped for hot chocolate for my team and I to battle the brutal temps.  I also stamped the coffee cup from "You Are Here".

I used the silverware from the "We Are Here" set and the "I Was Thinking" sentiment with the awesome arrows in the set to start my journaling for this pic of my girl and I out to eat. I was thinking it was a BAD idea to go during her fussy time of night but she proved me wrong :) She was so content watching everyone! And loved sitting in the high chair for the first time (at a restaurant).

After 5 years of my wedding band sliding around, I decided to bite the bullet and have my rings soldered together. I was more apprehensive to be without them for 3 weeks than to actually have them done. I'm SOO glad I did!

I stamped the "this week" sentiment on the Stitched Curly Label Die. She loves things that open/close!

I love how this card turned out LOL! The controller 3x4 card is from Echo Park. A play on words with the game "Call of Duty" makes me laugh especially because she's looking up at him like come on dad! Let's play!

I used the "potty people" from the "We Are Here" set to make a father/daughter icon. Love this pic of them the day our new mattress was delivered ;)

How beautiful are these sentiments embossed in white? I used this one to start my journaling about how my hubby spoils me :)

Probably my fav card on this layout. My beauty saying "hahaha you thought I was TIRED?!" So cute in her PJs. The card is from Pebbles and I added the scallops and hearts to match. I love my tiny attacher!!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I hope you come back to visit and see more of my Project Life pages. Remember to check out Emma's blog at My Creative Time.. you will be SO inspired by her, her team, and her products.

Have a great week!!
