{{Rudolph}}

Now that the tree is down and toys put away, it's time to for this momma to get back in the scraproom and start documenting Christmas :) I loved the sketch Rochelle posted this month:

For my Mom's birthday in December, I took her, my brother, and my daughter to see the musical play of her favorite Christmas movie -- Rudolph. It was FANTASTIC. You can see a clip of it HERE on you tube.

I am also entering this into Brenda's Christmas cartoon challenge -- inspired by the theme (Christmas), colors (red, green, blue) and icons (Santa, reindeer and specifically, Rudolph :)

I trimmed down the program to include as my title, along with the ticket from the show. I love these selfies we took during intermission.

Those cute reindeer are from Doodlebug and remind me of Rudolph and Clarice :)

I hope you had a wonderful holiday!!

Home Decor with Authentique

I was at a playdate with my daughter a few weekends ago and in their kitchen, I saw the neatest thing. She had framed some of her grandmother's recipe cards! As I was admiring the aged, handwritten words - I knew what I wanted to create for Authentique's home decor challenge this month.

I remembered I had taken photo at Christmas time of a my grandmother's cookie recipe to use on a holiday page. I printed it at 4x6 and embellished it in this 8x10 frame.

Ironically, I used Authentique's "Infused" 6x6 papers, which I bought to make a card set for said tea-loving grandmother :)

Infused-sneak+peek

I fussy cut one of the papers "life is sweet" for the bottom left corner. I backed the white heart doily from my stash with pink glitter cardstock. I adhered these crocheted flowers to the top of the frame for dimension and because they seemed like the perfect match for these gorgeous papers.

In our kitchen, my husband built these amazing floating shelves, which hold a collection of sentimental frames, our wedding glasses and cake topper and more. Now, it displays a piece of her as well!

Have a great weekend!

{{xoxox}}

This past May my grandma had open heart surgery. She is the matriarch of our family, so naturally we were all very thankful that even though recovery was long and hard - she is doing well. I'm grateful that, being a teacher, I was able to spend lots of time with her this summer! This is our first selfie (thanks snapchat for making us look so refreshed haha!) where she was feeling up to a photo.

I used the middle column for the Scrap Our Stash tic-tac-toe challenge:  Simple Stories' Love and Adore collection, 2 canvas polariods I had in my stash, and brads (center of flower diecuts).

August Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge

I am also entering The Paper Girls Challenge for the "roses" theme.

Have a great week!

{{Snapchat Smiles}}

I'm so glad my teenage niece put Snapchat on my phone (and taught me how to use it haha!)  The fun filters crack up my daughter and I. It's usually when she's tired and fighting sleep, that we take a few silly selfies to get her settled in.  I printed off a couple favorites for this sketch by Freckled Fawn:

I thought these pictures were the perfect time to cut into my Simple Stories Emoji Love collection. Those speech bubbles in the sketch inspired me. I also used a fun paper clip from Freckled Fawn that I got in a kit several years ago.

Back to packing for vacation ;) Thanks for stopping by!

{{Daddy's Caddy}}

Since this month's June scrapbook challenge from Brenda was Father's Day inspired by this subway art:

and Father's Day hasn't happened yet - I decided to use some throwback pictures of my hubby's first father's day 3 years ago. I special ordered a onsie for our daughter that said "Daddy's Caddy" and took some pictures of her with his golf clubs. I printed them and had them framed for him - but hadn't scrapped them yet. I also used a photo from her 1st birthday (July) session of the 2 of them.

The journaling includes the phrase [number one dad] from the inspiration photo. I love this "oh happy life" collection from Amy Tangerine! I also used the Rochelle's monthly sketch:

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are enjoying the start of summer!

School Days!

School's out for the summer!! So that means a LITTLE more time for scrapbooking. And look at the first project I tackled:

I picked this awesome leather album up at Hobby Lobby for my daughter. I want to make a layout with all of her school pictures and keep in one spot.  She just finished her first year of preschool:

I journaled some of her favorite activities (playing dress up, teacher helper job, and being able to use the climber outside) and favorite playmates. I added some of the things she learned (writing her name, the days of the week, etc). Couldn't forget her LEAST favorite - naptime lol.

I used a bunch of different things in my stash and this sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

I also created a layout with her class picture, which will go beside this one in the album (which obviously, I won't share). Here's to summer vacation! :)

{{Happy Mother's Day}}

I created 2 more Mother's Day cards for women in my life-

my Mother in Law:

and my Step Mom:

Both use the adorable deer from the Create a Critter cartridge and a sentiment I printed on my computer. I am sharing these cards at Fantabulous Cricut for their Mother's Day challenge.

Have a great weekend!

{{Love you tons}}

I love a punny card :)

I used a sentiment by Lawn Fawn and this cute elephant from my Create a Critter cricut cartridge to make this card for my Mom.

I am sharing this at Fantabulous Cricut for their Mother's Day challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

{{one pan dish}} recipe scrapbook

I love Elle's Studio "Let's Eat" collection. I decided to start a scrapbook of some of our favorite recipes, with pictures of my little family cooking it or around the table.

Here's my first one! This is a Pinterest inspired "one pan dish" - sausage and veggies. You can find the recipe and video HERE. As the journaling says: easy and delish. Best of all, it's pretty healthy and lasts for several days!

I am entering this into Elle's Studio's National Scrapbook Day celebration for the challenge "document a favorite food".

Have a great week!

The Shake She Didn't Share

I couldn't wait to use the Bella Blvd Barnyard papers I got in the mail today, from Paper Issue's big birthday sale. I knew I had to scrap this adorable picture of my daughter with a death grip on her first vanilla milkshake. We were SUPPOSED to split it. But she wasn't sharing. Good thing I love her!!

I used one of the April sketches at Let's Get Sketchy.

Have a great weekend! I'm hoping to create a few more layouts :)

{{daddy daughter date}}

*gasp* my first traditional layout of 2017!

Our office is being remodeled (and my stuff is EVERYWHERE) but I was going through withdraw and had to make SOMETHING. My friend Mel gifted me the new Simple Stories "Adore" collection for Christmas and I've been dying to use it.

I used Rochelle's awesome throwback sketch:

I switched up the banner pieces because I thought that border strip went perfectly with Brenda's "I will always love you" song challenge.

These photos are so precious to me; so glad to have the story told on a layout!
Thanks for stopping by :)
