Ah, Valentine week. My good friend, April, gifted me some papers from the My Minds Eye "Love Me" 6x6 pad to use (how could I NOT have any Valentine paper??) and I enjoyed making this spread coordinate.

I finally had a chance to do some hand stitching on the title card; love how this turned out with the doily. I used my very old Bazzill In Stitch'z templates... these are making a come back. Have you seen the new ones by Amy Tan? Love!

I am going to like including cards and things in Project Life. I actually took a picture of my hubby's Valentine card and resized it so I wouldn't have to cut the actual card. Isn't he sweet? ~swoon~

I also get a card every year from my dog.. lol! My kids though thought this card really was him. Again, I scanned the card and shrunk it to include.

This is a photo of the Valentines my first graders exchanged.. I think it will be neat to see the different trends.

Speaking of trends.. love the chalkboard trend right now. This card is from Elle's Studio.

What's every girls dream for a fancy Valentine's date? Why, seeing Die Hard in the Imax Theater! lol!

Actually, this was the Sunday of Presidents Day weekend and my hubby and brother humored my sale shopping for a few hours, so we hit up dinner and a movie afterwards. It was actually pretty good.. but don't tell them I said that!

PS - Linking up at About a Boy challenge blog for using an older product (my Bazzill stitching templates.. and my layout includes photos of my brother and I),  Apron Strings (March Madness #15 distressing; I inked the edges of all my cards with black ink), and Boys Rule (stitching)

Project Life: Week Six

I'm catching up on blogging Project Life.. so happy the sun is out this afternoon for decent pics ;) Click HERE to see week 5. And here's week 6!

This was a heartbreaking week for me, documented in the 6x12 pocket is the passing of a former student to cancer :( For obvious reasons, kept private.

The title card was cut down from a sheet of DCWV 12x12 paper from the Acrtic Wishes stack.

Even though this is Project Life, life right now; I am going to include a few older pics. I think it is SO cool to see my lil puppy in my hubby's arms the day we brought him home and now. Even my hubby commented how cool this card was. Mission accomplished :)

Haha.. text message from my bestie, the movie we watched (and lost brain cells from haha!) and of course her lil cutie:

Love this view from the top of the ski slopes! My brother and I had a fun time tubing that weekend... and I didn't even break anything! ;)

Hard to believe this was the beginning of February and here we are at the end of March.. and there is STILL snow in the forecast! Even the ski resort is still open lol.

PS-sharing this layout at About a Boy challenges for using scraps (I use A LOT of my scraps on PL pages!) and my layout also features my bestie's lil boy.

Project Life: Week Five

Project Life.. Week 5!

I loved mixing alphas and stickers for this week's title card:

A cold winter, with a morning power outage. Our puppy loves any excuse to turn on the stove! Luckily, it wasn't out too long..

The quotes are Pebble's phrase cards. Love this one. Also included a facebook screen shot to include my hobby.

Ah, the day my husband lost his wedding ring! LUCKILY he found it.. talk about needle in a haystack.. but it was in the gravel driveway of a friends house where he was helping chop and load wood for the aforementioned cold winter. It has slipped right off when his hands were so cold. This polariod is from Studio Calico.

A school milestone.. 100 days! This is a huge banner that stretched across the hallway. The kids got to jump through the "o". It lasted about 2 hours haha! But so fun..

These 6x12 inserts are fun to add a more "scrapbooked" card.. this one holds all the pics of the projects that were completed that weekend.

Super bowl Sunday!! I tried stamping directly on the photo (which I had done before).. but the finish must have been different on this one and it got smeary. I left it :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are enjoying your Saturday.

Tropical Trio

I actually took a break from Project Life and made a "traditional" layout. When I am motivated to do so, I am trying to fill in my special albums.. you know wedding, honeymoon, and Hawaii. Yep, the first scrapbook I ever started 7 years ago is STILL not done. lol!

I used the sketch from Artful Delight~

and made this!

That pic is a blast from the past ;) My fellow first grade teachers and I on our way to dinner aboard the ship. Ah, I love reliving those memories! Particularly nice when it is still FREEZING on the East Coast even though the calendar now says SPRING! ha!

Spring is in the Air :)

I know it's been a month since I've blogged, but I have been busy on life and Project Life :) I will share those layouts this weekend (I'm actually up to week 8 wahoo!)

For tonight, I have 2 fun, spring cards. First up, an Easter card (inspiration from Apron Strings photo)! I made a batch of these cuties following the sketch at Artful Delight:

MARCH CARD SKETCH ASC#30

I used papers from MME's The Sweetest Thing, along with this bunny diecut from my Create a Critter cartridge.

I finally used my new Paper Smooches "Streamers" banner stamps.. love them! I tried spelling out my sentiment with my "Alphadot" stamps, but it wouldn't fit. So, I printed this on my computer, sized just right. It worked perfect!

Speaking of Paper Smooches, I used their Sparks' card sketch on my next card; a birthday card for our niece who turns 10 this weekend :)

I mirrored the landscape sketch, as my puppy (from "Woofers and Tweeters" set) was facing the other way. He looks just like my Jax and I know our niece will love it :)

I stuck close the the sketch, using the same MME The Sweetest Thing papers; this time embossing my happy birthday from "Sentiment Sampler" and adding a fun crinkle ribbon bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Happy (early) FRIDAY! :)
