My heart is a flutter!

I'm in love with Paper Smooches stamps.. so I broke out an older set for this week's color challenge:

I used "Giddy Bugs" to make this cute 4x4 square card:

I used the blues for the paper pieced butterfly, and a pop of pink for the hair bows, stitched fly lines and heart:

I think she turned out so cute! The top left was missing something, I think the paper clip is a cute touch. It brings out the gray background mat (which was also in the color challenge). Thanks for "flying" by today ;) Stay tuned for some Project Life pages. I'm getting caught up on Weeks 2 and 3!

Take a Hike!!

LOL.. no not really.. but I did scrapbook some Colorado photos of a hike we took, while on Old Trail Road to the top of the mountains :) It was simply, breathtaking. All of it. I would love to go back!

I used the sketch this month at Imaginisce with their "Happy Camper" line:

In addition to the sketch -- you were to use the color blue (CHECK.. my background mat, title, and journaling) and your theme word for 2013 (CHECK.. mine is adventure). Here's my layout~

Click to view larger :) I really like how it turned out! Another one for the Colorado album (it was only Summer 2011 lol)

The diecuts from Imaginisce ROCK.. I love the cut out look, as well as the glossy highlights on some of the words/images. I stuck pretty close to the sketch -- cutting my circle outline with my cricut to give a pop of yellow.

I fussy cut these trunks from patterned paper to give a funky "scallop" border. I also fussy cut that lil bear from patterned paper and stamped my journaling on the bottom of my "polaroid".

I distressed the edge of the patterned paper, layering on a blue cardstock background to make those lil birdies pop. I tore open the top of the page and tucked one of the trunks behind - adding our initials. Love!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're having a great week. Stay warm!

These Boys :)

Happy Sunday! I'm scrappin' and watching the football games. Made a layout with my brothers and I wearing our jerseys from our football party a few weeks ago (when the Cowboys were still in it HAHA)...

I used this month's sketch at Artful Delight.

When I spotted this sheet of Yearography paper from Simple Stores at my local LSS - I knew it would be perfect for this sketch/photo. I swapped out the circle background for a star.

I fussy cut the paper to make the banners look like they were put on top of the mats/photo. This is the younger of my brothers, Alex.

On the other side is my brother, Jonathan. My favorite are those Pink Paislee wood alphas :)

I put my lil star punch to work with my cardstock scraps. I am sharing this layout at Scrap Fit's "Wish Upon a star" challenge and The Scraptastic Club's challenge to use a favorite photo, with at least 7 lines of journaling.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a great week :)

Just a Note

Happy Saturday! I have just a quick card to say "just a note" using this week's sketch at Paper Smooches:

I used 3 different Paper Smooches stamps on this one... Geographic, Woofers and Tweeters and Sentiment Sampler.

Isn't he cute? I can't get enough of that "Jax" (my puggle) stamp. The blue polka dot and bones patterned papers are from Echo Park.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm on my way out the door.. dinner out with the hubby and a trip to Hobby Lobby! What more can a girl ask for? ;)

New Arrival :)

Happy Saturday!! The sun is out, but brrrrr it's chilly! And it's only going to get colder for us the next few days. Too bad it doesn't include any precipitation - yet :) Lucky for you, I have a layout with a sweet baby to warm you over ;)

I used the color inspiration at Scrap Fit This month --

Those colors took me right to my favorite DCWV stack - Linen. It's full of these colors and textile patterns; so soft and pretty. Perfect for this baby boy of my bestie.

I used my Martha Stewart "Doily Lace" punch to make the pleated heart border. The diecut came from my "New Arrival"cricut cartridge.

I can't believe this lil guy is almost 1 1/2... we had him this past weekend while his parents were away.. good things he is as good as he is cute! :)

Having a Ball!! :)

OH my, what a crazy 2 weeks it's been (as you'll see by last week's Project Life pages coming HOPEFULLY later this weekend!).. but this is the first I've had a chance to make something. And it's a traditional layout, even!

I used this January sketch from Boys Rule Scrapbook kits:

and made a page of my boys (hubby and little brother) having a snowball fight on Christmas:

They were outside and I was in my sunroom, snapping pics - when they slammed the window with a snowball at me. I just LOVE how that pic turned out! :)

The hubby was smart (or not???) and was half protected on the cellar steps..

I used patterned papers from an old Die Cuts With a View (DCWV) Christmas stack. I'm loving USING what I've had for a while :) I embellished with this glittered snowflake diecut, chevron washi tape and a few blue gems.

I just wish it would SNOW again soon ;) I wouldn't complain about a 2 hour delay or snow day lol! Thank goodness it's the weekend! TGIF! :)

I'm sharing this layout at Paper Issues' "Say it Aint Cold Outside" link up :)

I'm also sharing this layout at Simon Says Stamp for their "washi" challenge and with Rochelle and her friends' challenges! So fun!

Rochelle - "baby it's cold outside" title or journaling
Kristie - use your stash - washi, glitter, chevrons
Brenda - use a sketch from Dec or Jan
Kerys - winter theme

Project Life: Week 1

This week was a test! It was a boring week ~ school, home. Repeat. And then my hubby worked overtime over the weekend. BORING. But..... I PASSED THE TEST! I still enjoyed documenting week one, even having to narrow down the everyday pics I did take :) I loved including pics that normally wouldn't get scrapped. I used up a lot (who are we kidding, very little haha) of my stash -- but I did use 3 different collections and a few embellishments that might otherwise not been used together. To sum up, it was a boring week - but I loved it! Test passed.

I mainly used a combination of DCWV's new "Arctic Wishes" stack, Echo Park's older "Wintertime" and newer "Winter Wishes" collections. I love the blues, purples, and silvers.

We have a calendar white board on our fridge. When we had friends over this past weekend, my bestie wrote in a message for New Year's Day (the last day of Christmas break for us). LOL! This is why I love Project Life.. I wouldn't otherwise have scrapped this treasure.

I can't make any promises that you won't see one of these adorable pics every week -- my hubby and puppy passed out in their favorite chair. So sweet.

Ah, housework. You're lucky it was a slow week! lol! I love our new Dyson vacuum though... and I love journaling directly on the photo! I also included a screenshot of a text with my brother :)

I'm going to enjoy including pics from school in my Project Life album as well. This week we are studying polar bears in science. My first graders were addicted to watching them via the San Diego Zoo webcam. Technology can be so amazing!! You have to check them out :)

Lastly, another pic of my two loves:

No pics of me this week -- but I'm going to try to fix that next week :) Thanks for following along this far!! Have a great week!

Restocking My Cards :)

I sent A LOT of cards last year and even packaged packs of cards for gifts -- it's time to restock my card box to be ready for the occasions 2013 brings. I started with a birthday card for the sketch at Artful Delight:

JANUARY CARD SKETCH CHALLENGE ASC #27

I used some patterned paper scraps from my stash and my Create a Critter cartridge for the balloons :)

Next, I made a card using this color inspiration from CARDS Blog :)

Screen Shot 2012-12-29 at 12.48.14 PM

I used my new "Woofers and Tweeters" set for this "just because card":

I just love the colors and how it goes "over the edge":

I like how either of these cards could be for a man or a woman, too ;)

Thanks for stopping by tonight!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!!! I've spent the first day of the 2013 year working on my cover page for Project Life :) I used THIS page protector layout from Echo Park. Here is!

This 4x6 card is from Simple Stories Sn@p! and it's a FREE download. How cool is that? I printed it out and added the wooden veneer people, from Studio Calico.

I love it! This is a photo of my hubby and I taken on Christmas Day. I want to keep my album mostly flat; so I added a digital journaling element using www.picmonkey.com. The heart banner is from Bo Bunny "Love Letters" and attached with my new Tiny Attacher by Tim Holtz :)

I created the "2013" title using Echo Park patterned paper scraps cut down to 3x4. I die cut the numbers in black and white to create an offset shadow. I ran the white layer through my Cuttlebug using the Seeing Spots folder for a little something extra.

Couldn't leave out "our baby" Jax on the first page. I used another Bo Bunny flag, stamped with a pawprint from Paper Smooches and attached with a tiny staple.

I also used my "Alphadot" Paper Smooches stamps to create my "Project Life" card. The "life" is die cut using Ali Edwards' font and layered on this awesome days of the week paper from Echo Park's "Today's Story". A little washi gives another pop of color, too.

There you have it! Page one. Done. :) Thanks for stopping by today! Stay tuned for week one's page and other layouts, too. 2013 is going to be a creative year!

Are you starting Project Life too? Leave a link so I can check it out.. thanks!!
