Project Life: Week 27

Check out the post before this (HERE) to catch up on why I'm only on Week 27 of 2013 and why I'm going to keep on truckín'

I'm so excited to share the most crazy/amazing week of our life! Our daughter was born (we adopted) and we brought her home. Introducing baby M's first appearance in Project Life!

Trying to pick and choose out of the THOUSANDS of pics I take per week now is tricky but I have to remind myself this is just a slice of life :)  Here's my title card:

I had a few custom Project Life cards made. This is a wood veneer with the adoption creed engraved. LOVE!

The first time we held her... my hubby says this card looks like we had twins LOL!

We brought her home on the 4th of July :) Look at that sweet face. She was (is) perfect!

We were surprised to be welcomed home with gifts, food, signs, and more. I made a collage of some of the pics I took of our house.

LOVE our new family. The "love makes a family" print was found on Pinterest HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I'm lucky to have not lost today's holiday due to snow make up and will be working on Week 28 :)

PS- I'm sharing these pages at Stuck On U Sketches for their vellum Project Life challenge. I printed my journaling on vellum on my bottom left and bottom right cards and layered on top of my photo and patterned paper respectfully.

Project Life: Revisited

So, I started Project Life last year. I completed 26 weeks (shared up to week 22) and then we adopted a baby :) I fell off the wagon.  You can read all about why I started PL then HERE and see all my pages that I posted HERE.

Quotes

Where do I stand now? I'm back on the wagon. But, I'm 6 months behind. Ugh :(  I try not to be defeated when I look at the the first 6 months:
  • I love looking at my Project Life album and seeing what our daily life was like BEFORE we had a baby.
  • I love that I have steadily collected product and found my Project Life style BEFORE experimenting with baby pictures/pages.
  • I love that I have half of 2013 documented and in chronological order.
  • I love that I discovered even though I did not use hardly any dimensional embellishments, a whole year will NOT fit in one album; but half nicely.
  • I love that our daughter was born exactly HALFWAY through the year and can separate my album at a great point.

Which brings me to today's post. While everyone has been sharing their fabulous 2014 cover pages, I created my 2013 Volume 2 page :)

What I decided:

I am going to keep going; little by little documenting this sweet girl's everyday moments. Week 27: coming in next post.
  • I'm NOT going to stress about hurrying up and catching up. After all, in the grand scheme of things I'm "only" 6 months behind.
  • The important thing is taking pics and writing down all the firsts. She certainly is growing up so fast!
  • Even though I love the chronological aspect of PL, I may jump around and do my 2014 cover page and first weeks of January while they are fresh in mind.
  • Keep organized; so when I have a few minutes I can make the most of my ME time in my scraproom.. not searching for that thing I know have :)
  • I will make time for myself because I love this hobby!

I see a lot more people joining PL in 2014. Are you? Link your blog so I can check it out.  Stay tuned for my crazy life.. both 6 months ago and today :)

{Artful Delight} COUSINS!

Is there anything better than COUSINS? How about having 3 girl cousins? I'm so glad my baby girl will grow up with lots of family fun and mischief with these 2 ;) I used the sketch at Stuck On U Sketches , just substituting one photo for 2.

I used my super girly January Scrapbook Kit from Artful Delight to showcase this pic:

The quote says "Cousins are the first friends we have as children. No one understands our crazy family like cousins do." True no?

Everything on my layout is from the January kit except for those wood alphas (only because I used up all the "s's" from the included alpha on my "Sass" layout.. lol!).

Have a great week!!

{Artful Delight} Meeting You

Happy Monday! Time to share another layout using the Artful Delight January Scrapbook Kit. I am in loveee with the patterned papers included in this month's kit. Aren't they cute?

I cut a few of them into various shapes and sizes of hearts to label 3 of the sets of people that came to visit my baby girl when we brought her home.

I embellished the 3 photos with those fun photo corners and tickets that came in the die cut pack. There is SO much in this kit to create so many cute projects. Check it out here.

AHH! Look at that teeny tiny baby! Where did the last 6 months go to?! Have a great week!

{Artful Delight} Hello My Name is Sass

I am in LOVEEE with the January kit at Artful Delight..

The patterned papers are all PERFECT for my lil girl's layouts and this kit includes LOTS of great embellishments too.

I made my first layout using Debbie's sketch:

Here's my 3 week old girl:

I love the "Hello My Name Is" card in the die cut pack. I added the word SASS with the Fancy Pants letter stickers.

I thought this quote was perfect for her expression.. and a fun message too :)

Have a great weekend!
