TGIF

Today is my last official Friday off. Next Friday, I'll be in inservice and the Friday after that? I'll be surrounded by first graders.

So, today I'm enjoying Friday. Playing. With my dog, with paper, until my hubby gets home from work ;) Then, it will be Wii!

Back to School Bouqet

I spent the better part of the day working in my classroom. Having a student teacher is going to be very fun and rewarding. I wanted to make a little something for her to say "welcome". So, today I crafted this back to school bouquet.

Inspired by one of my favorite lines from "You've Got Mail", the next best thing to a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils is this back to school bouquet. It rests in a vase made of brand new #2 pencils.

This bouquet features 2 fall flowers in orange and yellow. The pencil vase is embellished with orange wired ribbon that has a shimmer to it. I made her this notecard using the DCWV Grade School stack.

I'm selling these on Etsy. Proceeds go to more school supplies for my classroom :) Consider one for your child's teacher or give your own desk a fresh, fall look. My favorite time of year is fast approaching!

Amy's Mission

Amy over at http://amyspaperlife.blogspot.com/ is on a mission to promote our craft. As you know, in this economy several magazines and companies have had to fold their cards. As Amy writes, it's up to us to show what we've got. That the work we do in our scrapbooks, photographing our lives, perserving our stories, displaying our art - is important!

To help spread the word about her cause, she is spotlighting scrapbookers on her blog and giving away awesome incentives to do so. What a great way to build your resume, toot your own horn, or nominate a deserving friend. Thanks Mel for recommending Amy's blog!

Big Sale

My friend April told me about this shop and I feel in love. They have *tons* of Cosmo Cricket paper kits, paper, and my favorite - journaling cards. Free shipping for orders over $40 and you bet today I ordered $41.62 :) And I ordered *so* many individual papers, plus 5 kits for the price 2 kits would have cost me at my LSS. Thanks April for the tip!

Sunday Sketch

I know I've already posted a few of my sketch layouts this week, but I am on a roll LOL. I find challenges and sketches very motivating. This is the sketch from LetsScrap. I used 2 4x6 photos instead of a 5x7. I also extended it to include 2 pages. I used a Jolee's title sticker for the fun title and thickers for the 'more title'. My husband is going to journal in the box about his golf trip last year :)

With the scraps left over, I was able to make 3 3x3 notecards. I just love this DCWV Green Stack. The stamp is Stampin' UP!'s Thank You Blocks. I used the ribbon trick.

Autumn LO and Card

I am catching up on summer/fall pics from last year, prior to our wedding. This is a quick layout I made with different fall lines. I used a few buttons around the circle for the challenge that Penny is having on her blog.

With the scraps leftover from this layout (I cut a small section from behind the pumpkin paper of the background LOL) and the burgandy from the photo mats ~ I made this card. The quote came on a punch out sheet of 12x12 paper. I love the felt flower. I used the card sketch from MidnightMaddness.
