Winter joy :)

Nothing says "Winter Joy" like new pajamas - right?!

I used the current sketch at Sweet Peach Crop Shop for this page.

These are my cousin's little cuties - Gabe sporting Toy Story's Buzz and Woody pjs and Lucy decked out in Tinkerbell ;)

I just love how it turned out! The colors are not traditional but compliment the pictures so well.

I substituted the tags in the sketch with a bracket journal box and some deco squares :)

I paired this layout with another one featuring a few "outtakes".... after all getting these two to sit together for a picture took A LOT of bribing hehehe. I used a sketch from The Scrappiest for this one.

Again, I substituted the tag for a bracket journal box. Love the scalloped die cut paper!

Here is how the pages look together :)

I'm also linking them at Sketches in Thyme for their open sketch challenge.

Thanks for looking! Hope you're having a great week.

Yarn Flower card :)

Have you been drooling over all of the new CHA releases? One of my favorites is Jillibean Soup. They have so many cute embellishments! One of which are these "bean blossoms".

I thought I would give it ago and try to make some myself :) I really like the result!

The challenge at Fantabulous Cricut was to use a "neglected" cartridge. Well dusted off Plantin Schoolbook to cut my circle bases for this flower. This one is cut at 2 1/2" which was the perfect size.

I used scraps of Basic Grey's "Green at Heart" (one of my all time favorites from Basic Grey) and added a white border with my Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch. The "If friends were flowers, I'd pick you" sentiment was printed on my computer.

Thanks for looking! Let me know if you try it :)

Friendship Challenge at The Paper Variety!

Are you ready for another fun challenge? This week, I have a quote to inspire you at The Paper Variety:

Let this piece of wise decor inspire your creativity with a friendship card, layout or project. Use the quote as your journaling or sentiment - or substitute your own favorite friendship saying.

I am so excited to announce a new sponsor to The Paper VarietyCrop Chocolate!! They will generously award this week's prize to one lucky submission.

Wow! That's sweet enough to share with a friend ;) Be sure to check back Friday for more information on Crop Chocolate!

I created a layout that will eventually become a gift to a friend - so I kept parts of it a surprise and excluded the photo and some of the journaling ;)

I love these papers from Sassafrass Lass "Mix and Mend"! I hope to see how this quote inspires you at the Paper Variety this week. There is a GREAT prize to win!

Card Crazy :)

I spent this week replenishing my card stash and playing along with a lot of fun challenges. The best part is ALL of these cards were made with cardstock/patterned paper scraps :)

This card was inspired by Mary's cupcake challenge. I also did some faux stitching for Design Dollies element challenge. I used my Create a Critter cartridge for this one.

Next was a sketch challenge card for Let's Scrap. I used my Basic Grey "Green at Heart" 6x6 stack scraps.

I also used a sketch from Sketches in Thyme. I used scraps from my My Minds Eye "Fine and Dandy" layout from a few days ago.

The challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot is to create a project based on a child's game. I picked one of my favorites!

So, I made a "Sorry you're under the weather!" card using Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.

I used my new to me Sweethearts cartridge that my friend Sue picked up for me when Michaels had that ridiculous 9.99 sale! Thanks Sue! I made a quick card for my friend how got engaged over Christmas. Love the  DCWV glitter stack paper for the diamond :)

And lastly, but not least! lol .. I used the same cartridge for Cristina's black/white/gray only color challenge. This time I made a wedding card.

Okay! I think I'm set for a few days on cards ;) What did you work on this weekend? Leave a link so I can check it out! :)

Shopping Down Town

Posting on a Tuesday morning? Yep, it's a snow day for me! And I've already finished a couple projects ;)

I made a double page using my FAVORITE Basic Grey's "Wander" collection for a spread in my San Francisco anniversary album. My hubby was there for a business conference, so during the day I wandered (get it? hehe) downtown to do some shopping.

I created a collage of pictures of all of the high end stores I was just in awe of! I kept it clutter-free with a white background. I created a little city scene with patterned paper scraps I had leftover and chipboard pieces.

The second page is more of the same, including some computer strip journaling.

This is how they look together! You can click to view it larger.

A few close ups of the chipboard...

Have a great day :)

Oceanfront Dining

It is another cold day here on the East Coast, so why not scrapbook some more honeymoon layouts? I used more of Tessa's new January Sampler and my Fine and Dandy by My Minds Eye papers.

I had a lot of scenic pictures of the oceanfront restaurant we ate at one evening. I printed one of them 5x7 because it turned out so beautiful!

The mustard colored felt and lace lollipop flower with the pearl center is exclusive to the sampler package. I used the 2 leaves that also came in the kit to embellish it.

I added interest to my circle mat by cutting small pieces from the sheer ribbon, making a loop, and securing with a brass brad. 4 feet of ribbon is included in the sampler - and Tessa packages it so pretty on a clothespin with a stick pin (which I am going to use on a future project!)

For the second page of my double layout, I used the current sketch at Artful Delight.

I created a collage of pictures from our meal, the view from inside the restaurant, and the sign.

I kept it simple with another flower from the kit - a cardboard flower dyed with daffodil shimmery spray and accented with a shiny brad. It matches the colors/mood of my page perfectly!

I brought the 2 pages together by using brass brads on the corners of the photos on the second page and small strips of patterned paper on my journaling box.

Be sure to stop by Precocious Paper to see the beautiful embellishments she just recently updated for Valentine's Day! Gorgeous!

Happy MLK Day!

Cricut Cardz Challenge #57!

I can't believe it's been so long since I've made a card!  Thank goodness there is a new challenge up at Cricut Cardz to inspire me :) The color combination is red, black, and white only. Anything else goes!

I used my new Boys Will Be Boys cartridge to make this fun birthday card.

This is a 4 1/4" square card {I need to make more of these!}. I used my cuttlebug "traffic jam" folder on the red background and inked over it with black. The bike was cut at 2 1/2". I embellished it with 2 black brads. A birthday sentiment from Inkadinkado and I called it a day ;)

Head over to Cricut Cardz to see what the rest of the design team created with these colors and link up your own red/black/white card!
