Road Trip

I really like this week's Sketchy Thursday sketch.

I substituted the larger square for my "route sign" that I made on my Sure Cuts A Lot/Cricut. The font is cut from Elise. I typed my journaling on a text box in Microsoft Word. The embellishments are Jolee's :)

Card Challenge

The most recent challenge at Scrappin' n Chattin was to mail elements to your assigned partner and create a card with them. You were to send 2 pieces of 4x6 patterned paper and also 2 embellishments that coordinate. How fun!

These are the elements that Abby sent to me today.

And here is the card I made. I used my Sure Cuts A Lot/Cricut to create the top note in white and shadow in green. I turned it sideways to accommodate the flower. I popped off the pink button and slid the reddish one underneath because I didn't know what else to do with it lol.

My favorite is probably the green ribbon knotted on either side; it wraps around the whole front side of the card.

Card Crazy

Hi everyone! I have been SO busy the past two weeks getting ready for a new craft venture. I am going to take my virtual shelves of Etsy to a craft booth. I am excited for the opportunity and will see how it goes this spring/summer. So, I've been making lots of cards, mini albums, and premade pages. Here are a few of my recent cards.

I used scraps from my box (leftover from a farm layout) to make these "howdy" cards. The text is cut from the words on the back of the red patterned paper. The horse is a cut I made with my Cricut/Sure Cuts A Lot.

This card might be my favorite. It's made with Basic Grey paper and a Stampin' UP embossed sentiment.

This is a birthday card I sent to my sister in law. I used "diamond" stickles for the candle flames.

I hope to get back to "regular" scrapbooking soon!

First Grade

One of the monthly challenges at Scrappin n Chattin is scrapbook a "first"... first date, first house, first child; etc. I decided to scrapbook my first grade classroom. Last school year, I decided to make a safari/jungle theme and have been slowly adding to it. My favorite thing are the curtains I made to hide my shelving in the bottom right photo.

Except for the vinyl thickers (does anyone else have a problem with them sticking?), all products are by Reminisce.

My lucky number

I love this week's sketch at Sketchy Thursday and printed out a 5x7 photo I'd been saving.

I used one of the challenges at Scrappin N Chattin to use the word "Lucky" in honor of St. Patrick's Day this week. 3 is my lucky number and this photo is one of my favorites of the 3 of us on a road trip last summer. Jax always lays across both of us in the front seat. And yes, I was a dork and staged the whole wedding rings thing haha. Luckily, my hubby is a good sport at such opportunities.

The paper is by "Best Creations" and I picked it up at my local scrapbook store yesterday for this layout. I used my exacto knife to cut around some of the flourishes and slid the photo mat underneath. I used lime green thickers in daiquiri font and cut my "lucky" and "3" titles using my Sure Cuts A Lot program and my Cricut. You can get the font here :)

I used diamond stickles on the white pieces to coordinate with the glittered patterned paper. Thanks for looking. Happy St. Patrick's Day (a few days early)! :)

You're Special

I used this page maps card sketch for today's every day card challenge over at Scrappin' n Chattin. I flipped it upside down and moved the scallop circle to the other side to coordinate my embellishment.

I used this adorable squirrel from Crate Paper, which reminds me of spring in this very rainy day. I embossed the sentiment in white and used my white gel pen for the outer detailing. I really like how it turned out.

A Baby Card

My friend Kim shared this great Basic Grey challenge site. Week 15's challenge was to use this beautiful photo for inspiration.

Of course I decided to make a baby card to go with the theme and brought in some baby blues, while still trying to make the card gender neutral for any congratulations. I used Basic Grey's Lily Kate 6x6 pad.

Let's Scrap!

It's supposed to rain all weekend here and I plan on getting a lot of scrappin' done :) I'm going to work on my chronological album for a while - I'm working on December 2008. This sketch from Let's Scrap is perfect for those multiple 4x6 photos! I might have to use it again.

I used my beloved Bo Bunny "Chorus" die cut paper for the first page of the sketch and used the other third for the bottom part of the second page. I used eyelets for part of the monthly challenge at Scrappin' -n- Chattin'. The ornament journaling spot is from Crate Paper, that I received in a swap. It says "documenting the documenting; I always have my camera in hand!" which was inspired by Ali's recent blog post. I used 3 cropped horizontal pics for the 2 vertical pics. So versatile!

The second page has pictures of my hubby up to no good with my uncles and cousins. The "naughty or nice" embellishment was also a swap item, featuring this Inkadinkado stamp set. Perfect for this page! I substituted one of the 4x6 photos for a piece of coordinating cardstock so I could add my journaling strips.

And how they look together. I'm definitely using this sketch again. So many photos, but also room for journaling and embellishments!

Bingo!

I followed this great sketch from Sketchy Thursday almost exactly.

This is me, my Mom and Grandma at bingo :) The patterned paper and Jolee's title are from my local scrapbook store. I just love how the middle (green and purple layers) came together. I designed the little brown cut with my Sure Cuts A Lot software. I welded 2 small circles on either side of an oval and cut with the cricut. Purple brads were the perfect touch to hold it in place.

Simple; but I like it!

Baby Kendal

2 layouts in one day! :) I miss having time to scrap, it has been a very busy month so far and its only going to get busier next week. But, I find I am more productive when I have less time to scrap - planning ahead and brainstorming ideas so when I have time to sit down at my desk I can bring it together.

I used this sketch from Sketch Inspiration. I cut 2 circles with my cricut at 10 inches and 9 inches and offset them. I really like ow it turned out.

This is my wonderful co-worker and her new little one. The paper and rattle die cuts were a RAK from my friend Randi. The journal spot is from October Afternoon. I just love their little cards; but so hard for me to use because they are double sided. Which do I choose! :)

Who I Want To Be

I'm ready for spring! I just had to get rid of the snowy background and header and give my blog a sunny makeover. What do you think?

I played with Abby's sketch today.

And used a journaling prompt from the girls at Dirty Scraps, creating a layout about how other see you or how you see others, etc. When I read that I knew I wanted to use this quote. So I found a summer picture of Jax and I at the beach to go with my sunny mood today :)

The papers are from My Minds Eye's textured and glittered stack. I got a little circle happy :] I was trying to use up a few of my green/pink/brown scraps and stuck them all on my cricut mat and cut about 50 different sized circles. LOL.
