My first creation!

..with my new scrappin' goodies I got for my birthday yesterday.

I love the Create a Critter cartridge! I made a ton of cuts for RAKs, cards, layouts and just to experiment with how the layers worked. Because of the "new" way Cricut layers their cuts, there are more larger pieces that when put together show different colors, instead of small cuts that take forever to put together. The other benefit is when finished, the critter has the look and feel of chipboard. Very cool.

I made this card for a friend - I used the little deer. He is one of my favorite cut so far! I used the DCWV Neutrals pack for most of the forest critters. The paper is thick and textured - which worked great for the intricate pieces. Also, the colors are perfect for the different shades of fur.

I embossed my card base with the "Bloom Dots" cuttlebug folder to coordinate with the pattern on my accent paper (Basic Grey Lily Kate).

Here is a picture that shows the dimension of the fawn and embossing. I love it for my first project!

Thanks for sharing in my excitement :)
