Papercraft Star Challenge #15

The challenge this week at PaperCraft Star is to create a project inspired by one of the 7 wonders of the world:

Grand Canyon

The Great Barrier Reef
The Harbor at Rio de Janeiro
Mt. Everest
Northern Lights
Paricutin Volcano

Victoria Falls

I had a fun time deciding what I was going to do - as in Hawaii I did snorkel in a reef, hike a volcano and climb a waterfall! I decided to make a layout featuring pictures from the start of our "lava hike". Click to view larger :)

The volcano was really fun to make! I used the dinosaur accessory on the Create a Critter cricut cartridge. All of the layers were cut at 4 1/2". I knew I wanted to add some dimension with my cuttlebug - but my die cut was too big. Did you know you can insert your dies "sideways" to emboss larger cuts?

I carefully lined up half of my brown layer in the "distressed stripe" folder. It is just wide enough to fit though this direction.

Then, I flipped around the die cut and ran it through again on the other side.

Tada!

I repeated these steps with the orange layer, this time using the "D'vine Swirl" folder.

I really love how it turned out! Stop by and see what the rest of the design team created and link up your project before noon Saturday. Have a great Friday!!
