Pearl Harbor

One of my scrappin' goals for 2010 is to work on and finish my album of my Hawaii trip in 2006. I did a 2 page layout of our tour at Pearl Harbor. I have maybe 2-4 more layouts to do, but this is the "meat" of it. A Group shot in front of the memorial and the memorial itself.

I used 2 sketches for each of the layouts. The first one is for Sketchy Thursday.

I had to make it work with my pics, so instead of one larger photo, I stacked 2 4x6's. And the smaller photo I used part of the brochure (because I wanted the aerial shot. The journaling strips were taken right from the brochure too. I love the navy blue background square with the paper cut with the exacto knife. That's what inspired me on this layout.

For the second page, I used the sketch from The Scrappiest blog.

And oops I took this picture before I erased my pencil lines on my journaling block :)

Here is how the 2 pages look together. I distressed the edges of each piece with my brown ink pad, although it doesn't really show.

Thanks for looking!!

I love the idea of using two different sketches to make a two-page layout. Wonderful work, as always!
