Quick Quotes Blog Hop

I was so excited to put my Xryon 2.5" Create a Sticker Maker to work! I inked Quick Quotes'"Be Afraid" from the "Be Afraid" Bag 'o Chips set in black and ran it through. It was SO easy to have adhesive on all the intricate parts of it. The excess was easy to remove as well.

I used the laser cut as the title of my layout, which features our new Halloween Collection. I love these patterned papers!

Thanks Xyron for teaming up with Quick Quotes!

Summer Love..

It felt so nice to make a layout this morning! I used the latest sketch at Boys Rule:

I followed the title prompt at ScrapFit.. it reads "I will always remember what summer love feels like because those feelings come back every year." Such a special time in my life to meet this guy 6 years ago!

These denim roses from Maya Road are the perfect embellishment for this collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great weekend :) It's my last one before school starts!

30 in 30 Scrapbooking

Notice the neglect on my blog? Yep, it's back to school season here. CRUNCH TIME. I've been working hard in my classroom getting everything ready for my first graders. Hopefully, I'll have more time for scrapbooking after the dust settles. Top of the list is my bestie's baby book; I can't believe her little guy is turning one.

My friend Mel is hosting the perfect challenge to get me to the finish line on that project! It's 30 in 30 Scrapbooking challenge - create 30 layouts in 30 days. YEP, that's what I need! :)

You can check out all the details HERE. I participated in her June edition and it was really fun. Hope to see some familiar faces!!

Happy Wednesday!

Sorry no posts lately.. it's back to school season, here. We start back NEXT week.. I can't believe it! The summer just flew by. But, I'm *mostly* ready - I crave my routine and I miss my kids. I'm excited to use the the things I've been making and planning this summer.

There are so much inspiration on Pinterest and blogs. In fact, Tracy at Craft Junkie Too has had a month long back to school celebration. She LOTS of ideas from lunch box notes to treat bags to shopping lists and organization :) And guess what !!

I am the guest blogger today! Wahoo! I'm sharing my classroom birthday suggestions, tips and tricks ;) Whether you're a parent, teacher, or volunteer -- I hope you find my ideas helpful! This is what I made for my first graders for their birthdays:

Head over to Tracy's blog to read my entire post and much more! :)

Speaking of birthdays.. My cousin's little boy Gabe turned 5 this weekend (whatttt! That can't be..). Anyway, since he cares more about the present than my craftiness, I made this simple but cute card for him using the lion from Create a Critter. That's the challenge this week at Cricut Cardz... "Critter Cuties!" ;)

Head over to Cricut Cardz to check out the other "Critter Cuties" the design team created and link up your own :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great rest of the week.

Loving Life :)

My friend April recently addicted me to Ali Edward's stamps... there's no turning back now! My first set was "Loving Words" and I have several more on the way to my mailbox after a ridiculous sale she shared with me. I couldn't wait to use the sentiment "Loving life with you by my side".

Tomorrow is the anniversary of my hubby and I's first date :) I wanted to make him a card and loved the sketch this month at Authentique:

I used the masculine papers in the 6x6 Freebird "Comfort & Familiar" collection to make this:

~swoon~ I am so happy with how it turned out! I embossed the script in white on the dark green cardstock (same as the card base). I fussy cut the > > piece on either side.

I *finally* picked up a small heart punch. I popped each of these up (6 hearts for 6 years!).

I hope he likes it as much as I do or I might ask for it back!! lol! :) Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

Quick Quotes: Just Because

Good morning! Today I'm sharing one of my FAVORITE new releases from Quick Quotes: Just Because! I was immediately drawn to this colorful ray design and knew it would be the perfect paper for a fun photo.

That's me (on the left) and my bestie before a summer concert. She really is a "true friend"! I took the title from the awesome "Good Friend" color vellum quote that MAY describe us when he get together.. LOL! ;)

I backed the quote on kraft cardstock and attached to my layout with 2 small brads. I created my title using these fun wood alphabets and glittered stickers. The photo is matted on a star diecut from the more patterned paper from the "Just Because" collection and backed again on kraft cardstock. All edges were inked with "Mocha Mama" powder puff chalk ink.

I had SO much fun going through my button stash, finding just the right colors to match the rays. I added scattered them across my layout to add more dimension without taking away from the awesome pattern. I love these little glittered ones!

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! Keep an eye out at the Quick Quotes store for our new releases :)

Warm Thoughts

I'm not a camping girl - I mean I was when I was younger. We did the whole pop a tent and experience the outdoors. Now? not so much! I'll take a heated log cabin with a comfy bed please. But.. I had to play along with the "S'mores" challenge at Fantabulous Cricut because, who doesn't love s'mores??

I used the adorable campfire from Create a Critter with the sentiment from my go-to Paper Smooches set. Isn't it perfect? The background idea came from the inspiration cards at Paper  Crafters Library. I used my Hero Arts "Woodgrain" stamp with strips of brown cardstock from my scraps. I love how the flames pop off the card.

I'm also linking this up at CardzTV for Mary's "Anything Goes" challenge!

Have a great Wednesday everyone! :)

Indie Chic!

I just loveeeee the patterns and colors in the My Minds Eye "Indie Chic" line. I put my 6x6 pad to work on this card sketch from The Sampler Kit:

I made a 'get well' card for my Mom who is having knee surgery next month. I wanted it to be special so I used my October Afternoon Mini Market letters to make my personal sentiment.. get it.. "kneed me" ;)

That gorgeous bling is from Want 2 Scrap bling and will be on sale next week at AWDML. I also used my "Royal Rose" My Favorite Things die to make that felt flower. I love my cricut, but it is so neat that I can cut felt with my Cuttlebug! (Which my Mom got me for my birthday 2 years ago ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! And if you are reading this post Mom, act surprised HAHA :)

School is Cool :)

Good morning!! I was so happy to see no trees down this morning, as we had some terrible storms last night. We DID have almost an entire bushel and half of apples on the ground from our poor tree out front.. he must have been really shaken!

Anyway! Why I'm here today.. there's a new challenge up at Cricut Cardz called "School is Cool!" Perfect for me, going back to school in just a couple weeks. I made this card for the other first grade teachers on my team.

The globe was cut from "Locker Talk" and the sentiment is from Scrappy Mom Stamps "School Days"... a perfect combination!

Head over to Cricut Cardz to see what the rest of the design team created and link up your own "School is cool" cricut cards! :)
