Red Velvet Cupcake Toppers :)

Good afternoon!! TGIF! :) I really wanted to play along with the Paper Smooches latest "Sparks" challenge.

Display our button

This week it is an inspiration photo:

I really wanted to recreate the cupcake flags, with a 4th of July theme. Man, the Circle of Honor set would have really come in handy!

I improvised with my "Sentiment Sampler" set for the "Celebrate" sentiment. I embossed it in white on red cardstock. The star came from a free Paper Smooches digi image - I used my 1 inch circle punch for the skinny star with the heart in the center. I layered it the same red cardstock circle and again on a navy scalloped circle.

I thought these mini red velvet cupcakes were the perfect sweet treat for my picks! :) Perfect for this weekend's picnic.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great Friday! :)

Quick Quotes: Pinterest Inspired

Good morning! I have another Quick Quotes project to share with you today - created with our Powder Puff Chalk Inks.

Pinned Image

I don't know about you, but I am addicted to Pinterest ;) My card today was inspired by this pin.

Pinned Image

I knew I could adapt this design using the following Powder Puff Chalk Inks:

To create "tags" in the inspiration piece. I cut strips of paper 2" x 3/4". I used the direct-to-paper technique to color each one with my Powder Puff Chalk Inks.

I added glitter letter stickers to each one, spelling "thanks" and layering on my embossed card base.

I love how it turned out! The Powder Puff Chalk Inks have such a rich color.

I hope you give this technique a try!

Other Supplies:
Letter stickers
Embossed card base

Quick Quotes: Purse Card!

Good morning! Today I'm sharing a Quick Quotes project! A purse card I created with the One Fine Day paper line :)

I used the double sided patterned paper to cut my pattern. I added a thin pen line to the edge and a border across the bottom. The flower brad was the finishing touch!

As you can, the inside of the purse card has this stitched zig zag, that would be difficult to write a message on. So, I cut a mat from the less "busy" yellow paper from the same collection. I inked the edges with our Maraschino Cherry Powder Puff Chalk Ink to make it pop :)

Here, you can see the finished inside. I added an ice cream gift card and "happy birthday" sentiment.

Quick Quotes Supplies:

Other Supplies:
Ribbon
Flower brad
Sentiment stamp

Joyride :)

HA! Probably not the "joyride" you were envisioning? That's my cousin's little guy, Gabe, and my hubby mowing the grass together. Melt my heart why don't ya.

I used my new Echo Park "Hello Summer" collection. Hello.. this line is a must have for cute and easy summer pages.

My friend, Theresa's sketch was the starting point for this layout. I really love how it turned out.

I popped up the embellishments from the sticker sheet and did some white stitching around the yellow patterned paper.

I  need to restock my American Crafts stitched fabric thicker stash. They are so fun on any page!

I cut my smaller 2 pics in 3" squares and matted on white cardstock to make my own polaroids - inspired by the ScrapFit challenge. Thanks for stopping by today! Happy summer! ;)

Hexagon Flowers

I recently purged a lot of my stash at a yard sale sponsored by my LSS. I'm committed to using my scraps or tossing them! I was inspired by Frosted Designs and The Paper Bakery's challenges to create your own embellishments.

I cut the scraps from my "Indie Chic" My Minds Eye projects into small 1" hexagons and arranged them in a flower shape.  It's about 3 inches in size. These little note cards measure 4 x 4 1/4"

Lately, when making cards - I've been making at least 2 or 3 of the same design. I need to rebuild my stash of "thanks" and "just because" cards. I use them the most!

Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy your week!! :)

Lemonade!

Is there anything better than a tall glass of lemonade on a hot summer day?? Nope. Didn't think so! I made a 2 card set this morning for the "cool treats" My Craft Spot challenge :)

Didn't it turn out so cute? I used my new-to-me Echo Park "Dots and Stripes - Soda Fountain" 6x6 pad. The lemonade die cuts are from Imaginisce's "Berrylicious" collection - from my scrap bin. Always a plus!

I am also sharing these cards with...

Have a great Sunday! :)

PB&J inspired :)

I just love the Peanut Butter and Jelly inspired colors for this week's Paper Smooches "Sparks" challenge:

I decided to use my new My Minds Eye "Indic Chic" 6x6 pad - which has beautiful purple and orange patterns.

I used my new Paper Smooches "Pretty Momma" stamp set for the paper pieced roses and the "Sentiment Sampler" for "friend".

Thanks for stopping by today! Thank goodness tomorrow is FRIDAY !! :)

Sunset :)

Good afternoon! It's a heat wave here on the East Coast and I'm enjoying the AC and scrapbooking :) I created this layout for the Authentique sketch challenge ;)

I used their latest "Glory" line for these patriotic pics of an evening sunset over the battlefields.

I substituted the circle in the sketch for the star (fitting don't ya think?) and embellished it with these quilted heart flowers fussy cut from the patterned paper.

I created the borders with my Martha Stewart embossed zig zag punch and some burlap. Thanks for stopping by today! Stay cool! ;)

Just Keep Swimming!

I love this quote from the Disney movie "Finding Nemo" :) And it was the perfect sentiment for my fishbowl window card!

I used my all time favorite "Create a Critter" cricut cartridge to cut the fishbowl from both my white card front and fish patterned paper. I sandwiched a square piece of acetate in between. You can see the glare here :)

This is how the card looks closed. The papers are from Fancy Pants' "Beach Babe" 6x6 pad.

The inside of the card features this cute fishie who just keeps swimming! ;) I am sharing this card at CAS-ual Fridays for their "Clear as Day" challenge. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Sunday.. I'm headed to a cook out at my besties :)

Patriotic Thanks :)

I've been dying to use my Authentique "Glory" 6x6 pad. And what better way than with the Authentique card sketch this month!

I made "thanks" card, mirroring the sketch and replacing the rectangles with stars:

I used the Martha Stewart punch "Embossed Zig Zag" on the left edge. I die cut the stars using my cricut, with coordinating solid color paper (b side to the patterns) from the collection.

Of course, I used my favorite Paper Smooches "Sentiment Sampler" for the "thanks" pennant :) Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great weekend! :)

Birthday Bear Hugs :)

I used the scraps from the layout I made early today (you can see it HERE), to make a super cute birthday card. I wanted to play along with this week's Paper Smooches "Sparks" challenge:

I used the landscape sketch, with the Chubby Chum Pals and Sentiment Sampler stamp sets. I used several techniques on the bear image stamps - paper piecing, reverse stamping, and masking - to make the pair embracing each other:

I loved adding the party hat and cupcake stickers from the Doodlebug "Celebrations" line to the bears. For the sentiment, I combined the "happy birthday" from Sentiment Sampler (masking off the 'happy' part) with the "bear hugs" from Chubby Chum Pals. The green mat is popped up:

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm off to do some grocery shopping, then my husband's softball game this evening.. maybe even some late night crafting. I love summer time!

Doodlebug "Celebrations" :)

Good morning! So happy I had my first day at home with no where to go since school ended last Friday :) I had to use this Boys Rule sketch! I just loved the design:

These Doodlebug "Celebration" line was the perfect fit:

I moved the banner element to the bottom to anchor the 2nd part of my title.

I love the icons in this collection and popped up one in a cluster of presents:

My favorite new trend are photo corners! I made these with my square punch :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Last day to enter my "furever friends" giveaway HERE.
